  • Hi everyone

I'm off the SW wagon big time at the moment. I'm loaded with cold again which doesn't want to shift, my house is overrun with workmen, the kitchen is out of action and is a complete mess so I've been eating for convenience rather than to lose weight at the moment. So it's all been packaged sandwiches and micro meals at the moment - ugh! I need to start eating properly again as I know this cold won't go without me eating fruit and veg, hopefully I'll be back on plan by the weekend.

So the weight I lost last week I've now put on again :o2.5lbs gain. Hopefully I'll be able to get some of that off next week. Well done to anyone who's lost this week :T and big hugs all you gainers

    Hope everyone is well
    xx

Candyapple - hope you're feeling better today. Love the 40 small presents idea for your DH birthday. It would be great to hear what you buy if you don't mind sharing.

(love the idea of all the little pressies Candyapple but I think I might struggle thinking of 60 )

Well I think I've made a rod for my own back here I'd forgotten how awful I am at buying prezzies for men :rotfl:

So far he has: some shave soap, marmalade & biscuits from Crabtree & Evelyn, Man Utd wrist supports, Next aftershave (reduced to £5 very MSE :money:), bags of sweets, hot chocolate .. I'm trying to buy him little but useful things, at this rate he's going to end up with stuff like Heinz ketchup which he uses by the bucketful :D I have just under 2 weeks to find the rest I don't like my chances :rotfl:

Hello! Great to see you coming out of lurkdom! :D

How long have you been doing SW and how are you doing?

8 years - time flies when you're enjoying yourself. :)

    LL :)
Been trying to lose weight by my self all last year (non sw)with no success. My weight just crept up. Finally in January I joined an SW class as I was about to break into the next stone above - that proved to be my final limit!
Have lost 7lbs so far, but have sts for the last 2 weeks as I am 6 weeks into a nasty coughing coldy virus that I can't shake off. Been sticking to plan, (for which I deserve a medal feeling like this :D) but I think my total lack of activity, plus having more than 10 syns a a day has meant the sts.
    I don't lose weight on 15 syns.
I need to lose another 7lbs and would love to lose another stone. No aspirations to be a size ten but would love to be a 12/14.

As I go to class I have access to online and I do find the online daily food plan extremely helpful in keeping tabs on syns and how much speed food I am eating.

2 big motivation factors that will help me achieve it:
Key motivation is I have been in a number of (amateur) shows this past 18 months and I'd like in the next year to see a photo of myself where I don't cringe at being the fat one in the photo and having to pretend the camera is a lying !!!!!!! :D

Secondly I have joined a class with a friend: I have previously, at past attempts) found going to class an utter chore and really boring and end up giving up. But meeting a friend there is far more motivating. And I do need to keep going to keep at it seems, on past experience.

Beenie - brilliant news on the decluttering! Our hallway is currently full of stuff that needs taking to the dump/charity shop. I've used this time being off sick to have little 10 minute splurges on the kitchen and the room of doom, (previously known as the dining room) and it all adds up.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

There were some good losses at group this morning. Many people seem to have plateaued recently and they have all lost this week. It's always good when the lbs start coming off again.

    Another EE day today:

B - nothing - no fruit to take as didn't get back until yesterday afternoon
L - LO pork balls in hoisin broth; had lots of veg in; HEB bread; butter 4 syns
D - HM toad in the hole - 4.5 syns for flour; 1 syn for 2 sausages; mash; brussels & peas; splash of gravy 0.5 (only have a dsp)

HEA - milk in tea as usual

Another week, another 1lb off here. Happy with that as it takes me under 200 lbs for the first time in a couple of years...and I'm now the weight I was just after I got married in September 2012. I have had so many people comment that they can really see that I've lost recently (I'm down 2 stone 2 lbs since June so it's been slow and steady), and others tell me that I can't possibly weigh what I do. I do carry extra weight well, I'm a smidge under 5 feet 7, with broad shoulders and hips - used to be very "athletic" before I got fat but when I say to people I want to lose another 2 - 3 stone they tell me not to.

I am having an off-plan night tonight, I have an assessment for my college course and I always treat myself to fish, chips and curry sauce from the chippy afterwards (to either congratulate myself or commiserate). I'm really looking forward to it - the fish & chips that is, not the assessment (although it shouldn't be too bad - I've passed all the practice ones I've done with ease). I also had a phone call earlier and now have a job interview tomorrow, so it's fingers crossed that that goes well too. I've been out of work for either 18 months or five years, depending on what measure you use - I was off sick but still employed for the difference, and now am ready to start looking at part time work again (using what I've learned in my college course).
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

    Afternoon all,

well that's two of my busiest days in the work calendar out of the way; another two in June for a similar event in another of our areas...the other events I oversee aren't on such a big scale!

My intake yesterday was abysmal and the only highlight was a layered prawn salad from Tesco for lunch, not considering the syns in the sauce but the veg and prawns were a delight :) The rest of the days was survived on a couple of chocolate bars, 1 cup of tea and 250ml water...not great!

Today I will admit has been no better; 4 cups of tea (and a 5th on it's way), a large asda scotch pancake, a cheese topped bread roll, a chicken noodle mugshot, a mini galaxy ripple, a snacksize romeo bar from ALDI. This is mostly because of having had no time to prepare anything for today before yesterday - my intention with my new plan is that Ican prepare breakfasts quickly the night before, soup/pasta salads can be prepared on the sunday and on hand, the ham wraps take minute sto assemble (can be done at work) and all veggies will be ready to go in the fridge for lunches/evening meals (in Tupperware boxes) this should mean that any future weeks like this are avoided.

I am considering grabbing a copy of Bella magazine on my way home and taking advantage of the free joining coupon as that saves a good chunk for me and the £5 per week can come out of the budget I have set aside to use to pick things up for myself each week (currently spent on useless stuff). Plus this way I will get access to syns online etc. I'll then aim to lose as much as possible by my birthday in July and then again in time for the wedding 2 montsh later though I will have to go and get a dress sorted asap really - the styles I like can be taken in anyway so that's not too bad at least I won't have to buy twice! I will try a new group and hopefully they will be a nice bunch.
All that said I have to find a group I can actually get to consistently first!

Congratulations and well done to everyone celebrating losses, awards, new clothes sizes and hitting new stone marks. :T:T:T So good to read of peoples successes.

Welcome to Brighton Belle :hello: and any other new people I have missed over the last couple of days.

Sorry to see you are feeling yuk candyapple - hope you feel better soon. How exciting getting new kitchen - I am sure all the upheaval will be well worth it.

Hope you find a class lush that gives you lots of support. DS and his girl have got an appointment tomorrow with hotel where they are hoping to have their wedding next year. Exciting times ahead I think. We have been to two weddings there previously and they have been lovely. Hope all your plans are going well.

Amazing what a bit of sunshine can do. Have been into town with DH this morning - just window shopping really. Then this afternoon we have been out in the garden (working not lounging around :p) and then I went to Mum's and cut her lawns. Needless to say I am kn@ckered now but feel good that we have achieved so much. Lamb joint (to shread) from Aldi for tea with roast veggies - hope it isn't going to take much longer as I am bloomin starving .
