  • I have been offline most of the week - just got a stinking cold, but really not felt up to bothering with Slimming World. I have no idea what my weight has done this week.

    And.

    I.

    Just.

    Don't.

    Care

I have just had an update from my friend to say that her daughter received her donor heart today. They have seen the trace of the new heart working and heart the heartbeat.

I am absolutely bawling my eyes out here. I have almost dreaded logging on to Facebook everyday, never knowing what I was about to read.

So this is absolutely the best day EVER. She now has the road to recovery to travel, but omg, this is just the best news EVER.

You can feel sorry for yourself, it's allowed, specially if you're poorly! BUT you have won our SOTW for last week so hopefully that will cheer you up a little bit :T:T:T

Evening all :) Thanks shala for the chart, well done to the joint SOTWs and well done to all the losses rolling in.

I'm feeling very positive this evening - went for a swim and it felt really good. When I first started going 2 weeks ago I was the slowest in the slow lane - people had to keep overtaking me. Tonight I was still in the slow lane, but I was doing the overtaking :D

    Today's food:
    Breakfast: bran flakes (HeB), apple
Morning snacks: apple, pear, clementines, nectarine
    Lunch: asda snack pot (1.5syns)
Afternoon snacks: alpen light (3 syns), apple
Dinner: asda sweet chilli beef ready meal (5 syns)
    Evening snacks: mullerlight
Drinks: water, NAS squash, tea/coffee with heA milk

Still got some heA milk left, so might have another cup of tea before bed, and might have a couple more syns with it depending how I feel!

Bought the ingredients to make chicken teriyaki tomorrow, hoping that will be nice. Also bought the ingredients for scan bran carrot cake - not sure what this will be like but will try anything once!!

Hope you feel better soon Hurdy. Fantastic news on the little girl. Things like this certainly put our moans and groans into perspective. I cannot begin to think about what she and her family have been going through. Hopes she continues to make good progress.

That's fantastic news, thanks for letting us know.:)

I've been starving this evening, that's what always happens if we eat dinner early. Fortunately the snacking was all on SW friendly things.:D

[EDIT - I was almost finished writing this post last night when my laptop crashed and I didn't have the heart to go through it all again. Switched it on this morning and miraculously it was there on my screen. Perhaps today will be a good day after all]

    Wonderful news HurdyGurdy!

    Beautiful kitties Emmylou!

Brilliant photos Abbafan - I love looking at before and afters online to spur me on!

Wow, that's amazing - what size would you wear at your lightest weight, and what size are you now?

At 13st I was size 14/16, which most people wouldn't be happy with. I have big hands and feet so I presume I have big bones.

    LL :)

At 13st I was bursting out of all my 14s and really uncomfortable. At my lightest I'm still a size 12 and by no means skeletal but a lot more comfortable in my skin. Just shows you can't go by ideal weights and BMIs because everyone really is different - you have to know what's right for you.

Apologies Tete, hope I haven't offended. I just tend to take people off the challenge if they haven't posted in a few weeks. it makes the chart less messy and it ups our % of weight loss to a more accurate figure. I will always put people back on if they want to though :)

We've had 24 people drop out so far, so if I hadn't took them off the chart would be massive!

Not at all Shala, it wasn't a dig! I totally understand the reasons - that's why I put the embarrassed face :o Don't add me in, I'll start fresh on the next challenge.

I weighed in on Fri at 12st 5. Total loss since Sept now stands at 9lbs and I'm only 5lbs over my lightest this time around so I've got off lightly considering. I did a big shop at the weekend and have my meals planned for the week.

    Today (Mon):
B - Porridge (A+B) with raspberries and sweetener. Coffee (A,1)
D - Lentil chickpea and chilli soup, 2x clementines
T - Bolognese (5% mince, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, carrot and courgette) with BNS spaghetti
Snacks - Carrot, apple, banana, mullerlight, meringue (3), hot choc (2)
    Total syns:6

I decided to try porridge at my desk instead of Alpen lights for HEB as I thought it might be a bit more filling. It means I use most of my HEA millk on the porridge, which I thought was a good thing as I'd have mint tea instead of coffee with sugar but I've had an enormous caffeine headache since teatime yesterday and it hasn't shifted overnight :( Perhaps today I'll water down my porridge and have another coffee at some point in the day.

Porridge and soup again to start for me today, will update again later.

Must say though it's amazing how much less bloated I feel after one day on plan :)

    Hi all,

Many thanks for your kind comments about my comparison pictures. I don't know what NSV means though?

At the moment I'm not feeling very well, have a stomach bug or something & can't stay far away from the toilet. Have took some tablets & it's eased off a little bit. My stomach is doing somersaults & I really don't feel like eating anything at the moment. Not only have I got the runs, but have terrible burps (smelly ones), sorry if that's TMI!

Still undecided as to whether to go to work, have already had a day off work sick this year, due to suspected gallstones (still not heard from the docs about my scan results for that, need to ring them), & don't like having time off sick.

    _pale_

Have a good day everyone. x

Hi all, slinking back in after a fall from grace! I have some STS overall since last posting but have probably only been on plan around half the time - but am now back on it with a vengeance! Was planning to restart after the weekend as I was out for dinner with some friends, but it turned out my friend has just restarted SW as well so we both had steak/chicken and salad and polished our halos! Driving too so only drank water.

Don't worry about sticking me back on the chart Shala I'll rejoin the next challenge if you'll have me? Meanwhile will keep reading and post as much as I can and hopefully keep focused.

Congrats BelseyBoop and HurdyGurdy on SOTW and really really great news on your friends daughter - I have been reading although not posting and she has been in my thoughts.
