OK, kitten pictures coming up. We have two, seven month old little [STRIKE]furry asshats[/STRIKE] darlings
Erwin is black and white and Eugenie is calico, they are litter siblings born to a stray mum in a friendly person's shed. We adopted them in October from the Cats' Protection League.Trying to lose weight (13.5lb to go)0 -
joedenise - funnily there's absolutely no cheese in it!. Looking at it now it looks more like a mousse on a biscuit Base. I'll report back later on it and attempt to put the recipe on!0

Cook some sliced onions until soft in Frylight. Make up a beef stock pot with about 100ml of water and add to the cooked onion. Add a squirt of tom puree if you like and some balsamic vinegar and boil for about 5 minutes.
You can add some extra water if it's too thick or boil it a bit longer if it's too thin.

Have made a note of this Denise and will give it a go through the week. I always think a nice bit of gravy helps with the veg mountain :rotfl:.
Tonight it was Nacho Feast (leftovers in freezer from a previous cooking session). It was very nice and had that with a half plate of mixed salad. Despite being fed not too long ago I feel as though I could nibble at something sweet.. Oh well I will try and keep my mind and fingers busy until it is feeding time at the zoo again.
Hope you have all had a good weekend and here's hoping there are big losses in the new week ahead.

BEG - I used both the tom puree and the balsamic today (it definitely needs the balsamic but I don't always use the tom puree!). You could also add a bit of mustard powder but make it up with a little water first as it doesn't mix too well into the hot gravy (ask me how I know, LOL!). The mustard seems to help thicken it a bit.
Have just totted up my syns since Thursday, which is my normal WI day, and have 31 syns left for Monday - Wednesday so not too bad, especially as I've had a couple of fairy cakes today which my friend made and she's a great baker - just wish she wouldn't keep bringing cakes down though for DH!

Evening all. Weighed in this evening with a 0.5lb loss - not much, but can't tell you how pleased I was to see movement in the right direction - feels like the first time in ages! (even though in reality it's only been a few weeks). Fingers crossed it continues!
Today's menu looked like this:
Breakfast: sultana bran (heB), strawberries, apple
Morning snacks: clementine
Lunch: jacket potato with veg chilli and salad
Afternoon snacks: clementines, apple, mullerlight, treat size curly wurly (3 syns), scanbran (1 syn)
Dinner: asda giant couscous
Evening snacks: 2 mini pastries (5.5 syns), alpen light (3 syns)
Drinks: coffee with heA milk, NAS squash
Save caveat as yesterday - healthy extras not measured, but fairly confident they're within allowance.
Seen a few billboards around this weekend for a new "tastier" skimmed milk from Arla - not much interest to me as I'm happy drinking skimmed milk anyway, but I know a few of you have mentioned in the past that you're not a fan of the skimmed stuff so thought you may be interested. That being said, they're obviously doing something to make it "tastier", so wonder whether it will be same syns/heA allowance as regular skimmed milk!!0 -

Oh ive tried the new milk - Bob (Best Of Both if I remember) - the 0% of skimmed and the taste of semi-skimmed. I am not a milk drinker but will occasionally have porridge and use milk for it. I was never particularly enamoured with the skimmed milk in porridge but Bob was a lot better in my opinion. As for syns, I never use full A allowance on milk and quite often divide it between milk and cheese.

I saw that advertised too. Apparently it tastes like full fat milk but I don't think SW allows any more for a HEA than for the 1% milk (300mls) but it might be worth tasting it to see.
ETA: thanks for the review beg. I might give that milk a try. Like you I often split my HEA. Tonight I had some grated cheese on the swede/carrot mash.0 -
Good results, muso and rebster.
Sorry to hear you’ve had a difficult time, whiplash. Welcome back. As Lois says, this forum is much better value - and gives much more support - than the online membership. I’m glad I gave mine up. Thanks folks, btw.
Emmylou, the kitties are gorgeous!
Not posting today’s menu. Breakfast & Lunch were on plan but then I visisted friend for dinner and, as they say, it all went pear shaped – me included. I’m dreading tomorrow’s “proof of the pudding!”Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -

Morning all
Reporting in with the result of this week's weigh in and I'm back to where I was before going to Benidorm so that's a STS again please Shala.
I wasn't going to check how much I'd gained from a weekend away but curiosity got the better of me - I gained half a stone! Thankfully a week of sticking to plan worked and it's gone. Maybe if I carry on in the same way I could achieve my target for this challenge. :rotfl:
Love the kittens Emmylou, makes me want one. One of my neighbours here in Spain recently acquired a rescue kitten and it's so cute, I wish I'd got there first. It looks like a Siamese and it was all skin and bone but now its being properly cared for he's filling out. He's so friendly too, I'm tempted to catnap him when we return to the UK.
Well done Rebster, Musogirl and anyone else who's managed to lose this week.
Cheese - looking forward to hearing all about your experiences camping in Oz. I imagine the weather will be good so you'll be able to cook outside quite a lot. Do you have a barbecue? If not the disposables can be quite good and cheap. You could have all kinds of lean meat and fish with salad stuff. Salmon steaks are great barbecued. If the weather isn't so good and you need to cook inside there are plenty of one pot recipes available on the net and lots of traditional meals like spag bol, chilli, etc can be done with 2 burners, you just need to make sure you get enough speed by adding extra or have salad with it. Have a fantastic time.
TIE - hope you feel better soon.
Good luck to everyone yet to WI, hope everybody has a good week.
