could you be driving? on antibiotics? tell them it's vodka/jd or what ever else can be with diet coke? I don't drink and nights out used to always be them trying to ply me with drinks and me dodging it until one day I lost it and had a tantrum. :o

Good advice there mary (not the tantrum though;)).

I think you should have a big push to get where you want to be for your wedding selement. If you want to go a bit off plan at weekends then you can but you'd need to save the syns for the weekend. Then you can have a take away or some drinks or whatever you fancy. It depends on the recipe you use for the chicken goujons. If it's all free stuff except for some breadcrumbs they could be quite low syn.

  • I think it is a spicy BNS soup we make from the website Candyapple. :)

Thanks found it! That might be a job for my day off tomorrow. I've no idea if the BNS in our Iceland were smaller than usual or not as I've never bought one or even seen one before, but they were very bruised the poor things

The chicken chow mein's got a bit of a kick to it and I'm no good with anything spicy but it helped with the water intake at least :rotfl: I thought the paella was ok but OH didn't like it. So probably won't be buying them again. I've not been overly impressed with any of the SW meals really but the pea and mint soup I quite like

I can't have multi pack crisps in the house either mary I swear they call my name I can hear them :D and one never seems to be enough. I'm the same with alpen lights though, if I get in a bingey mood I could eat a boxful at 1 sitting so I've just stopped buying them

    Today's food:

B - all bran with banana, muller light and an apple
L - not decided yet will have a root around kitchen in a bit
T - chicken curry using SW frozen tikka masala sauce (which we bought at same time as the meals, so I hope this is nicer), cous cous and some form of veg

    Enjoy the weekend everyone
    xx

It's strange as I have crisps and chocolate biscuits etc.. in the house for the kids pack ups and they don't bother me BUT if I buy them just for me then it's like I have to eat them all as fast as I can :rotfl:

(I am typing this one-handed and am desperate for the loo but I have a purring kitten on me so can't do much).

:rotfl: This sounds like my life every day. My cat is a total lap cat. Right now she's sitting opposite me with her back turned because she's moody that I'm curled up so no lap room. Got to love them though. :p

So as suspected, STS for me this week. Going to try and push for 2lb this week to reach challenge target by the end of the month, but we'll see what happens.

Pulled pork in the slow cooker for dinner, but DH is cooking so no idea on the sides. Everything in the house is SW friendly though so should be OK.

I Love cats! My poor old lady isn't doing so well now; she's 18 and has a heart murmur and thyroid issues, She's just a wee scrap - she never was a big beast anyway. But she still rules the roost.

maman, I get where you're coming from re other teams; misfortunes; I'm the same. Unfortunately, the shoe was on the other foot today as our youngster (we sold him to Norwich last year and got him back on loan in January) got carried off with a probable broken leg. :( sours the win.

    Today's consumption
Breakfast: hexb toast, jam (2), melon & grapes
Lunch: baked potatoe, beans, Hexa cheese, Activia 0% fat raspberry yogurt
    Snack: wine gums (4)
Dinner: 1/2 share chicken tikka jalfrezi with boiled rice (8),
    • and some naan bread
      Snack: apple

      Make tomorrow a good one.

  • Reporting a very happy 2lb loss please shala

Really pleased with that as I have proved that I can still have a normal life and lose weight as had a meal out and a takeaway this week. While I went over syns I didn't go crazy and was completely on it for the rest of the week. Only another 1.5lb to go for my 2.5 stone award so going to really push myself this week.

    Menu for today:
    B - 2 x hifi (heb), clementine
    L - subway chicken salad (2)
    S - Florentine (10)
D - Chicken enchilada pasta bake (hea), ff greek yoghurt, cherries, meringues (2)
    Exercise - 40 mins swimming

I've also made a lemon cheesecake today for tomorrows pudding from an old SW magazine at group this morning, although technically there's no cheese in it!
  • Hi everyone :)

I think it's been nearly a year since I've been on here. I was at target but have had a few health issues, including 2 surgeries, and I'm wayyyy off target now! Had one last binge today and signing up online again in the morning. Expecting to be 3 stone away from target when I get on the scales in the morning, but in all honesty I won't be surprised if it's more :o

I'm so out of practice with slimming world I'm actually more nervous than I was the first time I signed up. I could really do with going to a couple of classes but I'm not great in social situations. I apologise in advance for the stupid questions I shall be asking :p

maman - I think the aldi lamb is called "slow cooked minted lamb shoulder" - it was in a box near all the pulled pork type things. 2 syns for the whole box :D

The asda snack pots come in various flavours but tend are all based around couscous/quinoa/Bulgar wheat/lentils - you just add hot water and wait 10 minutes so super convenient.

The two couscous ones are the lowest syn, and it's these I tend to have - spicy morrocan style lentil and couscous, which is 1.5syns, and tomato and basil couscous and quinuoa, which is now 1 syn. For the latter, I think I was originally using an estimated syn value from Facebook, so the 1syn is just the official value now it's on SW online :D

Yesterday went pretty well. Ended up going out for lunch rather than dinner - went to a local pub that's doing really well on TripAdvisor, but was decidedly unimpressed! Also has my first ever try of scan bran - they're... Erm... Interesting! Think I will try some of the recipes I've seen with them.

    Breakfast: sultana bran (HeB), strawberries
    Morning snacks: apple, clementines
Lunch: grilled haddock - I thought I did really well by choosing sides of rice and salad, but when it came it was pilau rice and the salad had dressing!! Estimating 5 syns for this
Afternoon snacks: apple, clementine, scan bran(1 syn)
Dinner: LM sausages, fried eggs, beans, cherry tomatoes
Evening snacks: mullerlight, 2 Jaffa cakes (5 syns), curly wurly (3 syns), scan bran (1 syn)
Drinks: tea/coffee with heA milk, NAS squash, diet coke

Only caveat I guess is that because I'm staying with OH this weekend my heA and HeB aren't measured. That being said, I have a fairly good idea of what the cereal portion looks like as I do weigh it out during the week, and with the milk I know I've had less cups of tea/coffee than I would normally have through the week, so I'd be surprised if I'm going over with these.
