My soup and milk maker I am testing for Morphy Richards was delivered today.

First attempt at soup in my new gadget was a disaster :D

    It kept cutting off :(

I ended up ringing Morphy Richards and lady said if you underfill or overfill it will be burnt on the bottom and will cut off.

I tipped it out and put into a pan normal way and have already eaten my tea :D

Jug thing I tipped stuff out of was burnt on its bum  its now soaking :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Will have to be more careful next time I try it.

At this moment of time I am not impressed .

I haven't settled on target yet but possibly maybe another half stone(ish). Going to buy countdown next week and I will just see what happens at the end of that. So far that's my plan beanie :D just for record I'm 5'7" and tonight weighed in at 11st 10.5lb and wearing mainly 16s with few 14s.

BEG I am also 5'7 and I weighed myself the other day and I'm 11.10 at the moment, when I was at target I was 10.7 but I was up and down, up and down a few lbs all the time, so I think when we're back I would aim for 11. That being said though, my SW bestie is also 5'7 and she is at target at 11'12, we both wear 12's mainly, 14 up top, but we're just different body shapes.
I don't really like using the BMI chart as I don't think it's realistic for all different bodies, so go with how you feel in yourself and in your clothes. There's nothing more disheartening that's being a few lbs away from target and struggling. Good luck with the countdown!

    :-)

That's interesting - I'm also 5'7 and currently just shy of 12 stone. Currently about a 12-14 in tops and 14-16 on bottom (but I do tend to shop places where the sizes run more to the large side!). My target is 10 stone, which I picked purely because it would put me pretty much slap bang in the middle of the "healthy" BMI range, but I may revise my target before I get there, depending on how things go.
  • Thank you for the chart Shala. I see I forgot to update with STS (again) last week. However, I have redeemed myself this week (weighed in today 16th) and I have LOST 3LBs :j:j:j:j:j . I am so relieved. I thought I was going to be stuck there forever.

I've been having pooter problems so not been on the thread. Hope everyone is doing well, and if not losing, then managing to maintain a stiff upper life and a strong resolve to do better next week (that'll be me, most of the time).

Oh, for those who have been kind enough to comment, there is a small update on my friend's daughter (who is waiting for a heart transplant at the tender age of 12).

She has been transferred to the hospital where she will eventually have the transplant. The transfer went smoothly, which is excellent news.

And today, my friend has updated, saying that her daughter was back in surgery again today. The doctors (who are absolute utter bloody marvellous heroes) were trying something not before tried on a child, and this will hopefully result in her being in the best condition whilst waiting for a donor heart. No details of what the procedure is, but just keeping everything crossed that it is successful.

All just small baby steps, but every one is good news.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I don't think I explained well. My group is half an hour away from my house, and at either 8.30 or 10.30, parkrun is nearish to group but still far from home. If I go group first I'll have to hope I get weighed quick and rush off to get to parkrun... If I do parkrun first it won't take an hour and a half even if I walk so plenty of time to get to later group with the down side I'd be sweaty and gross! I am a little worried about getting to park run as I've never been and I've heard parking there might be difficult... Perhaps I'll run first so I'm not rushing from group and getting stressed about where I'm going

Bought new leggings this morning as I like the Sainsbury's ones and they have 25% off clothing this week. Got the next size down which I don't think will fit yet, but my current ones are definitely getting loose around the waist. I only wear them to weigh in so it's not that they're worn out! Also ordered a few tops online to collect so I can cycle out some more of the larger things.

I went to Sainsbobs too today. Hadn't realised they had the 25% off TU. Got a top which had 50% off then a further 25% off. Got some dark blue jeggings with 25% off. Tried some jeans on but wasn't totally happy with fit and am happy to leave them for the time being. I saw a twinpack of leggings june (around £10 I think) - are these the ones you bought? I debated about these but didn't know which size to go for - I thought the 12-14 would be a step too far down and yet the 16-18 would probably be on the baggy side. Do you know what type of fit they are? The jeggings I got were a 14 and are a very snug fit but comfortably snug iykwim :D.

Evening all :) Today's eating looked like this:
Breakfast: 35g bran flakes (heB), nectarine
Morning snacks: apple, pear, apricot, 2x clementine
Lunch: asda snack pot (1.5 syns)
Afternoon snacks: alpen light (3 syns), apricot, beetroot salad
    Dinner: lentil dahl, green beans
    Evening snack: flapjack (5 syns)
Drinks: tea/coffee using heA milk; NAS squash; green tea; water

Also went for a swim this evening, so all in all a good day :) Only negative at the moment is I seem to have developed a horrid cough over the last couple of days, that mostly materialises when I lay down, so I had trouble getting to sleep last night and have a feeling tonight will be the same :( Anyone got any good sore throat remedies that don't involve syns?!

Happy for your losses, b_e_g, marcsshell, lantanna, orlao, HurdyGurdy and Arkers.

I am thinking if I shave my legs that will be a 1 lb
I like your thinking, beanie – I may have to steal this idea!

shala, you’re a giantess! I am 5’ 1” and a bit (the bit is very important to me!). I started my SW journey after my cancer treatment. I was 15st 10lbs, size 22. I lost 2st relatively quickly but I’ve been a bit stuck for a while now and in the last 2 years I have only lost 10lbs. I’m a size 18 now – really a 16/14 top, but they rarely fit over my bottom half.

Love your soup making adventure, tweets. I don’t get the attraction of a soupmaker myself. Many soups are made in 20 mins anyway. I do lentil soup and Scotch Broth in my pressure cooker and that cuts the time down to 20 mins for them too.

I’m glad your friend’s daughter is being treated so well, HurdyGurdy.

Pre- Breakfast: slept in! none; memo to self – never have an early night!
Breakfast: 2 hexb Weetabix, some hexa milk, strawberries
Lunch: scrambled eggs with smoked salmon
    Snack: 2 chocolates (7)
Dinner: chicken pie (had some pastry, no idea of syns for that, but 1 for gravy), potatoes & carrots
Snack: rest of hexa as laughing cow light, with 2 cream crackers (4) , melon
