I weighed in last night and +3.5LB gain :(

I'm putting it down to having a very bad chest infection. I've been having lots of soothers... which I found out (late) are 8 syns per pack. Plus the streusels and lemsip are 1/2 syn each. I've also been drinking 4/5 times the amount of lids i usually drink.

    Morning all :)

I'm still relaxing in bed but really should get up and start packing ready for tomorrow. It's amazing how much time I can waste when I'm on the net.

Welcome to the new joiners. You'll find plenty of support here so feel free to ask any questions and join in the chat.
Hi just joined, been doing SW for four weeks (after decades at WW and losing and gaining), and have lost 8.5 lbs altogether.

I recognise your user name from a few years ago when you were living in Spain, are you still here? I live in Spain in the winter.

Hi everyone, I'd like to join please, I've been going to slimming world since last summer, I'm now 1/2 lb off my 2 stone award, I've still got a way to go before I hit target though, I stay to group every week & it helps, but every week before group I think about leaving & just doing it at home so I can save the money, but I always go back because I know I've never been able to lose weight on my own before.

Lots of us here on the thread follow SW without attending a group and some of them have got to target so it is possible. It really depends on how motivated you are, some people find that getting weighed at class keeps them on plan better than weighing in at home. Going to class gives you full access to the SW website, but there are loads of free resources available on line where you can get recipes, syn values and everything you need.

Sorry to hear you're not well. Don't worry too much about the gain, it's probably fluid retention, and will sort itself out when you're well again, which hopefully will be very soon.

Right, the washing machine has finished so I'd better get up and dressed so I can hang it out.

    Have a good day everyone.

Feeling more positive today, hopefully it won't be another syn filled one. Have been just scraping in under the full 15 all week. I know it's fine to use them all, but I like to keep a bit of buffer and I've been using them all and my second B by mid-afternoon so no pudding! :o

    Meals...
Breakfast - Weetabix, fruit and latte (A/B1)
    Lunch - Leftover turkey salad
Dinner - Either fish and veggies or leftover chilli, need to check with DH

    Syns, hopefully for pudding!

I make my chips with regular rape seed oil in a Tefal Actifry mini.
Per portion it's only 5ml/oil = 2 syn, I can live with that to get perfect home made chips.

Actifry chips look great but I can't justify the cupboard space for one given how often I have chips - maybe once a month at the moment, but at most weekly. I know it can make other stuff, but also not things I have often.

I think you can do it from home, but you definitely need the support/accountability of others. The various online communities (here, Instagram, etc) are pretty good for that. I do go to group but really only for the social aspect of it, I don't find it all that inspiring/supportive. But groups do vary quite a bit!
  • I'm completely off it; not really eaten anything since lunchtime yesterday as I have a bad head. Can't even stomach fluid's at the moment :( ...still sat at work though so much to do I can't have a sick day!

Going to group this morning but not weighing, decided I'm only going to weigh every 3-4 weeks - seem to be getting a bit obsessive about the numbers.

That's what I do since getting to target. I just go often enough to keep me on track and to maintain access to the website. I never weigh at home in between.

Have a great weekend, it'll be a break whatever the weather:).

Yeah after looking at photos I've reset my target so 25lbs to be killed. That would also make me the weight I was at my sisters wedding and I was happy at that weight. Lets do this.

I remember the red lace dress! I'm off to a wedding in a couple of weeks and hoping to get into my (allegedly) size 8 dress from last year.
