  • muso I tend to agree with maman, I know for me a 20 min drive would not work for me, plus it's nice to go to a nice gym, I'm a sucker for free toiletries! :rotfl:

My last gym, if you paid the peak meant you could go anytime, plus you might even find that there's a crèche at certain times for your wee one, so you could maybe fit in a session when the older one is at school without having to rely on childcare. Also, you're normally allowed to take younger kids into the pool for free which is good for a weekend and your DH could maybe just pay for a swim session and you can take it in turns to do some lengths? :T I have a few gym friends who used to do this and it seemed to work out quite well, they would do 2 nights, a morning/ afternoon if they could and one day at the weekend?

Whatever you decide, I'm sure it's bound to speed up your weight loss :j

Shala - I've changed my weighing day to a Friday to help support a friend.

I've gone back to calorie counting for a few weeks as I wasn't getting my head around SW :o I think I was muddling things up in my head about the two plans so realised I had to stick with just the one. I'll see how I get on with it for a few weeks then maybe give SW another go to give me a jumpstart.

So far, I've managed to stay on track for four and a half whole days :j I have found it difficult though, especially at the beginning :( but it is getting a bit easier now :)

I have to lose weight - I am MOH at my best friends wedding in May amd I have my dress in the next size down. I'm hoping that wasn't a mistake :rotfl:

I hope it's ok to carry on in this challenge, despite my not following SW

  • Hi everyone

Well done Belsy on SOTW :T amazing loss wow! Congrats all the target hitters and losers this week. Fingers crossed I'll be joining you all on the losers sofa tomorrow :)

    Food so far today:

B - all bran HEB with HEA milk & banana
    S - carrot sticks
L - rice and peas left over from last night's tea with chicken, and salad
T - WW lemon chicken risotto (5.5) with added broccoli

Syns to play with later for pud if I fancy it. I've had lots of lemon infused water today. Trying to make a conscious effort to drink more as I'm always waking up dehydrated with a dry mouth which is horrible.

Mary I often use a frylight lid for measuring oats as well since I saw it mentioned elsewhere. Every time I've measured it with the scales as well it's been right, maybe people have been heaping the oats into the lid instead of levelling it off?

I'm going to give lent a go this year and give up chocolate. Usually I cave in after 3 days but I really want to do it properly this year. I guess that means no choc shot on my porridge either .. already regretting saying it now :rotfl: Hopefully it'll be better for my waistline, will try not to overcompensate with crisps :D

Aiming to jump on my rowing machine & cross trainer later, it'll be the 1st time this year I'll have done any proper exercise. So taking it slowly and doing 20 mins to start with as I really need to start toning up. Need to get rid of all the wobble and jiggle

    Back tomorrow for WI

Feeling :( today. I shared a tip with group a while back about the frylight lids holding 35gms of oats and apparently it's wrong. lots of grumbles on the Fb groups about it today and I feel guilty. it measured right me the handful of times I checked it. Hey ho.

Ignore the grumblers Mary, even if they aren't doing it 100% it's not going to be that far out, within 5g at least.... 40g of oats is still better than a bowl of Frosties or toast laden with butter..

Our consultant also shared this tip with us...

I'm not being intentionally argumentative, but in a previous post you said you needed 2 pounds to get your Club 10. I've heard some amazing weight losses but never 28.5 pounds in 1 week - unless you had your leg amputated! :rotfl:

    LL :)

    :rotfl: that's funny

    Hello all,

Flying visit tonight :D to report 3.25lb loss please Shala :j

Still reading every day - very helpful and motivating thread so thank you very much all - but between the combination of work and traffic I barely have time to think let alone post...:o
  • Had an uber busy day at work today. Just as I was about to get my Weetabix, when all hell broke loose (I work in children's services, so when something happens, it's all hands to the pump) and by the time it had calmed down again, it was 11.30 and too close to lunchtime to have breakfast.

I had leftover SW Creamy Bacon and Mushroom Spaghetti Carbonara for lunch. I wasn't sure if it would re-heat successfully, but it was lovely. I have got myself a little Crockpot food warmer, so I just plug it in under my desk when I arrive at about 8am, and my food is lovely and hot for lunchtime. It means I don't now have to queue up to use the (usually filthy!) microwave, so yay!

We had Italian Pork in the slow cooker tonight, which we had with Ebly, Broccoli and Sweetcorn. Everyone else had pancakes, but I couldn't be bothered to make up the SW ones after everyone had eaten theirs, so I passed, and just had a pear instead.

My husband was made redundant at the end of last week, and has an interview tomorrow. Keeping everything crossed for a good result from that, although he isn't very confident and it's a bit outside his skill set. But - they've offered him an interview, so they must think he's worth an interview punt!

Mary Hinge - I am sure I have read somewhere that there are two sizes of Frylight lids. I am not sure I've ever seen two, but if that is the case, it could explain why some people haven't measured as they expected.

That's all I can think of. I'd never heard of that tip before so being a bit of a saddo I had to test it out. 35g was more than enough to fill the lid, I'd say if you level it off it's closer to 30g. Of course the size of Frylight has shrunk over the years but that should mean the lids are smaller rather than larger. ETA: Frylight shrunk from 250ml to 190ml

Good luck to Mr Hurdy Gurdy for tomorrow. If he's getting an interview he must be doing something right:).

Good results, New Me, orlao and Arkers.

Great news about your friend’s daughter, HurdyGurdy.

As for me, I stuck to plan – until 10.30 (pm not am; I wasn’t that bad!) when much freshly made, delicious white bread was consumed. And butter. Well, I had to tidy the bread away; some just got tidied into me! Sorry.

    Be back tomorrow.

Maman - Everything has shrunk apart from people :rotfl:

Hope Hubbies Job Interview goes well Hurdy

Went to the gym last night, def the right decision for me to miss class last night and just carry on. Got my focus back. Fingers crossed for a loss next tues.

Can't believe its Wednesday already. This week is flying by.

Making Peri Peri Pork for tea, never usually have pork so that will be a different one for me.

Might do some weights at home tonight, haven't done anything with them this year and its about time I did. I am always just so tired at night and tend to flop on the settee - well that needs to change.
