Thanks Tweets, i'm not part of that FB group as it was just encouraging me to look for naughty stuff that was low syn! :rotfl:

Much appreciate you looking for me though x

TIE - when I get my hands on a red cabbage i'll give it a go and see what happens! I've just had a spoonful when I was making my lunch for tomorrow  loving it!

I find it helps me find food I can eat :D but am good.

I did look for them in my Tesco last week but wasn't successful will try next time and hope I am lucky. Should have them my Tesco is an Extra so a large store.

Evening all, hope you had a good weekend :)

Weighed in this evening with a 1.5lb loss. Had hoped I might lose a bit more doing SP days but still happy - seeing a new stone number for the first time and over half way to initial target (just!) :j

Tried the two chubby cubs tater tots last night - very tasty, and OH was impressed too - will definitely be making that one again! Think I'll be trying some more of their recipes as well :)

Was really excited to read about the asda wonky veg boxes, but doesn't look like they're doing them in my store at the moment :( Hopefully they'll make their way here soon!!

Can't edit post from my phone, but woke up this morning and realised I'd got myself very confused over my target. For some reason I'd got it in my head that my target was 1 stone away, and I think I've been thinking this for a while, when actually it's 2 stone away! Don't know what's been going on in my head but it's rather annoying!
  • Hi everyone,

Been offline for a while, just had a quick catch up, congrats on all the great losses this week! :T

Welcome to the newbies, you will find this forum very supportive! :)

So this week we travelled to Borneo and climbed Mt. Kinabalu, it was a bit touch and go with the weather if we would be allowed to go to the summit but thankfully the weather Gods were being especially nice!

We are now in Bali, 3 days after coming down the mountain and my legs are still as stiff as a double Whiskey! :rotfl: Stairs are not my friend at the moment :(

We're headed out to the Gili Islands to do some diving, apparently there's a very good chance we'll see sharks, which I'm VERY apprehensive about!

The food in Indonesia has changed again, more Rice dishes than Malaysia, sampled some Nasi Goreng for lunch today, was very nice and filling! Lots of seafood on offer so good choices are not too bad here!

I hope everyone has a good week and enjoys some syn free pancakes on Tuesday! I never give up anything for lent ( as I always fail :D), I usually try and do something extra, this year I'm thinking of doing the 'plank' challenge that's been going around Facebook.

Is anyone else giving up / doing anything for Lent?
    :p
  • Shala - STS (again!!) this week. I am going to have to do something drastic, because I am pretty sure that I've not done anything against plan. When I went over syns one lunchtime on a "healthier option, guilt free" pizza, I had fewer syns the following day to even it out.

I suspect lack of exercise is at the root, so I might have to be a bit more active - urgh :D

The_Cheese - oh my word, what a wonderful adventure. I am every shade of green imaginable with envy.

For Lent this year, I will give up smoking. I have done this successfully every year of my life, and maintained it for the rest of the year, so I see no reason to think I will fail this time round :D

Rebster - I think just about all my meals are from twochubbycubs - current hot favourite in our house is Sausages Stroganott. My other "go to" recipe blog is vicki-kitchen.blogspot.co.uk. I made her Spicy Cajun Rice and Beans (the recipe made LOADS!) for my vegetarian son yesterday, and told him he could take some each day to work for lunches. Hmmm - that's not going to last long, because mum is going to be having some of that. I currently have her Thick Vegetable and Lentil Soup bubbling away on the hob, and it's smelling wonderful.

The ASDA veg boxes - what is different about these from the Tesco Value range or the Sainsbury Basics range? Apart from the fact that ASDA don't let you choose which veg you have in them? I don't understand all the furore. And I am old enough to remember when "wonky veg" were just called "veg". That's how they came out of the ground and nobody had a hissy fit that they weren't evenly sized, or uniformly coloured, or unblemished. They cooked and tasted exactly the same. Probably better, actually.

Good luck to everyone else with their weigh ins this week. Hope you do better than me :rotfl:

Sorry to hear that, lush. Is there a chance he will be recalled?

There is always a chance but they have said it's very slim; he seems ok with it though I think he had decided it was happening sometime ago. He has often discussed leaving as they have over looked him for some massive tournaments then said they regretted not taking him only to over look him in selections for the next. He seems relieved in honesty; we've spent the weekend with his mum and dad. Saturday we went to the big craft show at EventCity (Manchester) food was not too good and they wasn't actually much of it. Yesterday we went to a wedding fair then to find him a new car then for a carvery...spoilt by the big slice of cakeaway OH and I shared and a take away in the evening. But that's the weekend of distractions done and he's off to club training today.

We've been asked if he'd coach a D3 team (we are division one) and if I'd become their manager (currently manage the D1) and he has been talking of seeing out the season where we are now then becoming a player coach for the lower team. This would help them move up to D2 (unlikely this season due to another team having basically recruited some very able [but disabled enough to play our sport] experienced basketball/ex rugby players) and we'd both get some expenses etc where as right now we both pay out and can't get any expenses (I let my support staff claim in my place) but we will see what he decides.

Massive thanks to everyone for your support here; it means an awful lot. Now I'm ready to focus on the wedding and enjoy the prep as we no longer have to rush to get bits done whenever he's around as he won't be away so much and I can focus more of looking after myself too and finally shift some of this weight!

    sorry for waffling...

So back on topic; expecting a maintain or small gain this week which doesn't put me in a good mood but it's done now.

    Today:
breakfast: HeB bran flakes (35g) and milk from HeA with a banana
lunch: think I will make myself a little salad with spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, chicken and hard boiled eggs plus maybe some cous cous as I haven't had any in a while.
tea:I'm thinking chicken breast topped with bacon and a little cheese (will syn that) served with some more spinach and some sliced tinned potatoes fried with a spray of fry light

for snacks I have plenty of satsumas and some free yogurt that needs eating up!

drinks: tea with remaining HeA milk and peppermint tea

its raining a lot here but we are off out later for a short drive to pick up a craft order then this afternoon we have to be around for a couple of customers coming to pick up some bits we've made :) but dad is coming up so if they come early or we finish our first errand early we will go out with him and his dog. If it stops raining I might even dry off littlies trike (it's sat in the garden) for her

    Morning all :)

Reporting in with a STS this week. I'm happy with that as I was showing a gain when I had a sneaky peak mid-week.

I have the same problem with the Not Nigella Facebook page - she makes the most amazing puddings, all lowish in syns but still more than I can spare. She goes to the max with her syn allowance every day, but it works, she's lost loads of weight.

Great to hear about your travels, it sounds amazing, another one green with envy here!

I like your thinking re Lent - a bit like another new year resolution.

There are several people here on the thread who have lost weight/reached target without exercising, so it's not essential however it does help IMO. When I followed SW previously I did lots of cycling, and combined with following the old Red/Green plan the weight dropped off. I have knee problems now so I struggle with most exercise, even swimming is painful, and my current weight loss journey is slow, with frequent STSs and occasional gains.

Love it! For a few years I used to claim to be giving something up, but generally it was something I don't eat anyway, like crisps or biscuits. Last year I gave up pancakes. :rotfl:

Good luck to everyone with your WI, have a great week.

    Morning,

Not the best of weekends foodwise for me. Seemed to eat my feelings and had my hand in the naughty jar all weekend..........So not a great week at all as there was that much going on I never seem to get properly focused on it. Expecting a small gain tomorrow.

Anyway onwards and upwards, such is life and these things happen. There will be weekends that I stick my hand in the naughty jar and the bread bin. As long as I'm losing overall and trying my best whilst managing to have some sort of life and enjoy myself too I'm happy.

Some of you have had some great losses though this week and for those who are struggling maybe this is our week to shine!
  • Fantastic on the giving up smoking HurdyGurdy!!!

Just read at the top of the thread that there's a Facebook page for the thread? Can I join please?
