  • I haven't heard anything more from my friend whose daughter is now waiting for a new heart. She was updating via Facebook rather than messaging everyone individually, and there have been no further messages since the one saying that they are looking for a new heart. It is so tragic. Whilst we are all keeping fingers crossed that a new heart it found, it's never far from my mind that by finding one, it means that another family somewhere is going through a dreadful time. I hope that my friend and her family are just hunkered down and supporting each other. They will update as and when they feel ready.

Thank you all for your kind wishes for them.

Foodwise, back here in NormalVille, I made some oat breakfast muffins with carrot for breakfast today, and they were lovely. And free :D:D

I had a hard boiled egg salad at lunch, followed by some home-made (EasiYo!) natural yogurt and I tried stirring a chocolate Options into it to try and make it interesting. Hmmm - not sure I liked it especially, but it was worth a try for 2 syns.

Mid afternoon, I had some pineapple, mango and watermelon

And as we are eating out of the freezer this week, it's fajitas tonight. I might even bypass the tortilla, as they are quite expensive in terms of syns, and just have the filling with some salsa.

Determined to do better than a maintain on Monday :D

I read about them. Apparently they tried them out in a few stores and they were a big success so now being rolled out nationwide I think. The article I read said a week's veg in a box but they're probably not thinking of SW!;)

I've been to the local theatre again tonight so went for an ice cream instead of wine. Probably saved about 8 syns across the day. I know which I prefer.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk
    L: veggie omelette with ham
D: BGTY burger, fried onions, SW chips, ratatouille, xtra mushrooms
Syns: 1 for burger, squirt of HP sauce, small tub of ice cream

Sorry to hear that, lush. Is there a chance he will be recalled?

Well. I did not too badly for lunch, I think: tomato & roasted red pepper soup, prawn mayo sandwich on wholemeal bread, side salad and (the naughty bit) half of my helping of sweet potato chips.

The new scales have arrived. I had a go and they are showing about 9lbs heavier than the others. The only mitigating circumstances are that I tried them after my dinner, with all my clothes on (and my prosthesis) as opposed to first think in the morning, naked! At least they showed the same weight consistently. I think, probably, I’ll have to declare an STS for the challenge this week, then work from there. We’ll see what Monday brings.

I do have a wee NSV to report. My wedding and engagement rings are dropping off my finger. I can’t remember when last they could do that! In fact, after my mastectomy I developed lymphedema in my left arm and hand and had to have my rings cut off and then enlarged. It looks like I’ll need to get them sized down now! My left hand is still a wee bit puffy, but I’m starting to see knuckles again.

    Saturday Menu

Breakfast: hexb porridge made with water and salt
    Lunch: chicken salad, mayo (1)
Dinner: spaghetti Bolognese, parmesan (1 ½ ), hexa milk
Snacks: cherries, chicken noodle soup (3)

I've had porridge this morning but made with milk and syrup. That's what comes of being a Southern softy!:rotfl:

My rings got looser after I lost weight too and the same goes for my shoes. Probably not enough to drop a whole size but enough to feel a lot more comfortable.

It's a horrid day here, grey and very blowy with rain on its way:(. Our game has been rearranged for 5.30 p.m. so just need to fit meals in between.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit, HEB porage with HEA milk
    L: not sure, probably JP
D: Piri Piri chicken, SW chips, mushrooms, tomatoes, peas
Syns: squirt of syrup, fun size Crunchie, weekend wine:D

The chicken is a Lidl special offer for 1.5 syns with the skin on but I won't eat the skin so ignoring that.

I was just down the high street, went to Iceland to get some of the SW sausages.
Unfortunately I also was tempted by a Mcdonalds sausage and bacon roll. I only ate one bite and left the rest. I think something is wrong with me!!!! It wasn't very nice to be honest, but I usually love all things bad for me and have had a weakness for mcdonalds breakfasts for years, (I also like to cook from scratch, I'm not a total processed food junkie, just have been making lots of bad choices. Obviously. :o)

Another thing I found and got a bit over excited for was a mullerlight Peanut and Caramel special edition.
What can I say, promises so much but does not deliver. I love anything peanut butter, reeces etc, and this smelt absolutely fantastic, but tasted all sorts of wrong. The tang of the yougurt just does not go.
    So dont do it!
    Youre welcome :rotfl:

    Morning all :)

My hands and feet definitely get slimmer when I lose weight - when I lost weight before, I was aiming to get to target in time for my silver wedding anniversary. DH bought me an eternity ring to mark the occasion and bought the size I'd been wearing before losing weight. When it came to the day he gave it to me, and it was too loose! I had it and my wedding ring re-sized, but now they're quite tight again. I also have big feet - size 9 - and when I'm at my heaviest I struggle to find shoes to fit, whereas when I'm lighter it's easier, and with some styles a wide 8 fits me.

Greentiger - weight does fluctuate a lot during the day, I can weigh 7 or 8 pounds more at the end of the day than first thing in the morning, so hopefully your new scales didn't give you too much of a shock this morning. If you do weigh more on them, don't think of it as a gain, it's probably that the new ones are more accurate.

Hurdygurdy - I buy wholemeal tortillas and treat them as HEBs and if we're planning to have fajitas I make it a Red day so I can have 2 and use my syns for some guacamole. It's probably not strictly on plan, but it works for me.

Have a good weekend everyone, hope the weather is starting to improve.

Old el Paso stand and stuff tortillas are only 4.5 syns each. I had some with syn free chili last week, was yum, would be nice with your fajitas.
