  • Hello everyone,

Hi to all the newbies, big :j:j to all the good losses and hugs to who need them!!

I've been very internet awol this week, we arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday and came to Singaopre on Friday, not been online much at all. I have to say Singapore is a beautiful city, real mix of cultures and cuisines!!

We went to the long bar yesterday at Raffles hotel, which is where the Singapore Sling cocktail was invented - amazing!!! we are staying with DH's friend so lots of money saving on accommodation! :T

DH is a massive football fan, and he very much misses talking to men about it - I try my best and listen, but I can tell he doesn't think it's the same :( so very pleased he can talk all the football of the day with his friend!!maman and greentiger you probably know what I mean about Scotttish men and football! :D

I normally weigh on a Monday but going to the hairdressers early tomorrow - got roots down to my ears so I'm over joyed at finding a western hairdresser to do my blonde!! :D

1.5 lbs off for me this week, I'm glad as I thought last week should have been better, however my body normally takes about 7-9 days to show gain or loss. I think that takes me to 5lbs Shala? I'm not sure? I think I would like to adjust my target to this though, as I've realised I'm becoming a bit obsessed whilst travelling and trying to eat the most low calorie healthy things all the time and not trying the local dishes. My DH gave me a bit of a talking to the other night and he said - when will we ever be able to have the freedom to do this again and we're in these countries with amazing food and you're ordering a tuna salad??:eek:
I thought about it and he is right, we are so lucky to be doing this and I'm so paranoid about food choices all the time, yes I've put a stone on in 7 months now, but I don't want to waste the next 6 months either by not experiencing the local foods and cuisine, which is such a big part of travelling!!

We are being very active on this trip and on Wednesday we start a 2 night, 3 day Trek to the summit of Mt. Kinabalu ( don't worry I'll keep my top on and won't get arrested :rotfl:), we also do daily 7/14 min fitness app depending on how much time we have and today we did a 15km walk. ( I know if I didn't do lots or exercise then my weight gain would be much more!)

So I'm thinking if I can just keep to where I am just now and stop putting pressure on myself to loose weight, then when we get home I can get straight back to it and lose the extra weight then??

Sorry for the rant, but my DH has just sort of made me question my priorities!! Any thoughts would be most welcome! :A

Cheese, I love hearing about your adventures and I think your DH is right. Of course you should eat local cuisine while you have the opportunity. I'm sure we'll still be here when you get back when you can get properly stuck in to SW!

Oh and I'd willingly fly over to talk football with him if it helps. I quite fancy a gin sling in Raffles.;)

I had to meet up with some friends this morning and ended up with an unexpected buffet lunch. I made good choices of salad and quinoa. There was oil but not too much.

I called into Tesco while I was out and the Amoy Udon noodles are half price.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit, 2 fried eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
    L: salad
D: roast lamb, SW roast potatoes and parsnips, cauli, broccoli, swede/carrot mash, cabbage
Syns: squirt of HP sauce, oil, gravy, weekend wine:D.

    Properly back on plan tomorrow.

I agree with your hubby, you're only there once so enjoy and back on the tank once home! :A

Wi .5lb loss better than a gain though! Another stressful week ahead, hubby is away over night Tuesday and son works the late shift so will just be me and the pooch :D. Stressing already :o.
Very sad to hear of our Sir Terry, another great lost to the evil C. Was listening to radio 2 earlier and they were playing his favourites. He discovered Eva Cassidy and they played Fields of Gold which was my mums favourite. Mum choose it for her husbands funeral so I had tears streaming too :(

Forgive me if you lovely ladies already know about this but I stumbled a cross a blog called "twochubbycubs"

I'm just cooking their tater tots recipe now :j :D i'm always a bit wary of linking the recipes here as they are a bit rude but funny :rotfl:

I saw a good recipe on Facebook this morning for one pan balsamic chicken and if I could work out how to add a link I'd do it but I'm on my tablet and I'm not sure how to! The recipe is by Tip Hero so a search would bring it up.

Was it this one Lois? http://tiphero.com/one-pan-balsamic-chicken/
I have been weighing in though so I hope it can be counted please Shala?

Course you can, added your results in :D

I love Fields of Gold TIE, I think they used it on one of the cancer charity adverts a few years back and it made me cry every time it was on!!! :( Beautiful song though..

I'm in a food mood today, really want to eat pizza :( you can tell I've been eating bread again, it's like a trigger that leads me onto the bad path  :( OH is standing strong though.. he suggested pizza Thursday night and I shouted at him for it so he's now doing the same for me :rotfl:

So menu for today red EE
Brunch - chicken roll (heb) salad & cheese (2)
Tea - cheesy tater tots (hea) (2 Chubby cubs recipe here, the blog's a bit rude so don't click if offended easily!), mullerlight for pud

    Aww about Terry Wogan. :(

At my weigh in yesterday I'd lost 2.5lb, only 2lb to go for my 3.5st award!

Got slimmer of the month as well. :T

Wednesday is going to be a killer as I can't have breakfast (I'm going for a scan as the doctor thinks I have gallstones).

Hope everyone has a good week. :)

Evening all. Back from my holiday and now very behind on this thread!! Hopefully now that I'm back into a normal routine I should be able to keep up a bit better!

Weighed in this evening with a 1lb gain - actually fairly pleased with this, as I know I went very off plan on my holiday (and enjoyed it!) so was half expecting a bigger gain. Had a sneaky look at the scales yesterday morning and it was looking like a 2.5lb gain, so will happily take the 1lb! Planning to do SP Mon-Fri this week, so hopefully that should help me shift the gain. Also determined to start getting a bit more active now. I've downloaded the 'get paid to walk app' so hopefully that may give me a bit of extra motivation! And going to look into maybe going swimming I think.

    Hi all :)

Shala - yes that's the one, thank you. With fry light instead of oil and a couple of syns for the dressing, it would be good on an EESP day, or with couscous/rice/potatoes on extra easy.

The Cheese - I agree with your OH, you need to experience all aspects of your travel, so make healthy choices if you can but otherwise just enjoy whatever is on offer.

We had fun at crazy golf - DH got the best score for the men and won a bottle of wine. Dinner was quite SW friendly too, salad starter, roast beef for main and sliced kiwi with caramel syrup for dessert. A few syns for roast potato, gravy, caramel syrup and a couple of glasses of wine.

First of February tomorrow, pinch and a punch! A month gone already, it'll soon be Christmas!

Good luck for the coming week/month.

:T well done abbafan. Hope all goes well with your scan. Why not plan on taking something with you to eat afterwards. In my experience hospitals sell the most unhealthy stuff so don't rely on getting something there.

rebster, 1lb after a holiday is brilliant and you'll probably lose that very quickly.

Looks like I've got a good week coming up, no meals out planned so I'm in control. I like it that way.:)

Wow, amazing loss, Cheese, considering you’re adventuring! I’m in with maman for the football chat.

Good for you too, TIE and Abbafan (& SOTW).

Oh, beanie, take care of yourself.

Well dinner was fab ( and the concert too) – I had minestrone soup (prob oil in there and I think pesto), chicken (no skin) peperonata with sugar snaps, cauli, and rosematy potatoes (roasted but quite dry) and raspberry pannacotta, which was quite a generous portion. All in all not thebest, but certainly not the worst either. Only other syns today went on Thorntons mini caramel shortbread (3).

Back to normal – is there actually such a thing -tomorrow.

    Pre breakfast: banana
Breakfast: grapefruit, hexb toast & jam
    Lunch: Batchelors Pasta’n ‘sauce ( ½ )
Dinner: steak fajitas, tortilla (5), salsa, salad, ML blueberry yogurt

Fingers crossed for my WI tomorrow.
