    Morning all :D

Reporting in this week with a loss of 2lb. Pretty pleased with that considering the time of year, and I'm happy that I got a bit closer to my goal than last time.

Welcome back all the returners and welcome to the new people and good luck to everyone for the new challenge.

    Morning,

    Happy New Year!

I'm back and I ate Xmas!

I went to class last week and had gained 5.5 lbs. I'm expecting another gain tomorrow. Least I will know exactly were I am.

Anyway back to basics and behaving today!

I would like 14 lbs for the challenge please Shala

Whilst I was eating cheese and drinking wine over the break I did manage to batch cook lots of SW meals for the freezer. Just didn't eat many of them lol. So at least I am organised and ready to go now.

    B: Oats, Yogurt, Berries

L: LO Chicken Stirfry with Rice Noodles

D: Beef Casserole with lots of veg

    Snacks: Pink Lady, Satsuma, Melon

I really need to do this, its got to the stage I'm having crisis talks with myself and having nightmares about regaining all the weight :rotfl: I would say I'm well on my way unless I get a proper grip immediately and do something about it right now!!! I moved into the next stone bracket as well and that's frightening!

Good Morning and Happy first Monday back!

Starting off nicely with a loss of 1.6lbs - though I suspect that most of that is water weight, it's still a nice loss. I'm not sure if that counts or if since the actual challenge starts from today my first weight in would be next Monday?

Starting on SW properly today which should be interesting - though my idea of properly is not quite SW as I'm not counting the syns in my protein powder if I have it in my breakfast shake, nor am I counting the syns in the berries that get blended in - it's only 50g and I'd happily eat those without thinking.

    Plan for today:

B: Protein shake - 40g protein powder, 50g spinach, 50g berries, 120ml ss milk (1/2 HEA) fibre powder.
L: Slimming world ready meal - beef stew and root veg mash, pineapple. oreo (2.5 syns)
D: ham with couscous salad (lots of tomato, cucumber, red onion and peppers with some lemon juice), melon slices.
S: cucumber, pepper and carrot sticks with some hummus (4 syns), Muller light yogurt (if hungry)

Need to figure out how to use up my other HEA and HEB. I'll probably have a cheeky Ferrero Rocher when I get home as I got a large box of them for Christmas. (3 syns)

This weeks a little flaky as I only got to do a quick shop on New years eve and I've been working since Saturday. I'm going to meal plan on Thursday and shop on Friday for the week ahead as I'm off the next four Fridays, so that should provide some constancy.

Hi all - I'm new to this thread and diet - I can save pennies but not pounds so to speak! I'm new to Slimming World too, and doing it with a few friends so hopefully the joint effort will be worth it.

I'm going to pledge losing 3 stone in 2016, so that's 42lbs for me. My weigh in day is Monday and I was 14 stone 2lbs this morning.

I'm also doing Dry January, which should help :)

    Good luck everyone!

** Just noticed I need to pledge for 8 weeks - I'll go for 10lbs - do we get a number assigned to us for the challenge?**

They write it in my book, I just resist the urge to look! I also make sure my consultant knows so she doesn't say anything about how I've done in IMAGE therapy! I only do it for a couple of weeks normally though.

I'd love to be able to just use clothes as a guide as to how I've done but I've got so much to shift that it doesn't really work for me. Last time I did SW I lost 2stone 4lbs and was still wearing exactly the same clothes and hadn't gone down even 1 dress size!:(

That's amazing willpower not to look in the book abbe.

It can take an age to drop dress sizes. It will work for you in the end:).

shala will explain properly how the targets work but briefly, she'll post a chart with everyone's name on it and post up the losses each week. IIRC it appears on Tuesday evenings but you can post your losses whenever your WI day is.

Dry January will save you money (and syns) but are you and friends having your own support group instead of going to a class?

tazzy, SW groups seem to vary quite a lot depending on the quality of the consultant. They all follow the same basic format though of WI when you arrive, then all sit around in a circle for Image Therapy which is when consultant reads out what everyone's lost (and gets a round of applause) or commiserates with gainers. They also ask questions like 'What worked for you?' or 'Do you know why you gained?' and encourage you to set a target for the coming week. Good consultants encourage people to ask questions and share tips (like on here) but others just seem to follow a script and find difficulty controlling all the chat. Some offer text/email support during the week and will look at a food diary to tell you if you're going wrong anywhere. In the first week you'll have a new members talk while everyone else is weighing but for the first session of the new year the consultant may give the talk to the whole group as a refresher. That's my impression but I'm sure others might have a different view.

    Back Soon.:)

I actually did a dry January last year and found I ate far more at the weekends coz I was looking to compensate for missing out on the alcohol. I used the syns normally used on alcohol on food. So for me personally it wasn't effective other than giving my body a break from alcohol.
