Baby Velociraptor curry is the "in" thing this Xmas you know. Mainly because there's always loads left. I'd just hack it into portions to be fair.

I'm having "just the one" for now, No1 son wants a lift to the boozer to meet his mates for their annual Xmas Eve get together. But i will be partaking of a couple more when i get back in about half an hour or so. He's introduced me to Brew Dog IPA, it's very moreish so i'll decline the Vodka for now ta xx

Just as well. We've just acquired a mate who has just found himself unexpectedly single.

It's the planning that does this, I tell you.

Team effort for us today. Hubby burned his hands boiling the ham while I made the dauphinois potato and Yorkshire pudding mix. He wrapped up the pigs in blankets and made the stuffing. I've suggested we cut the turkey crown in half because the "small one" he bought would probably put JoJo's velociraptor to shame. Hubby is also insisting on cooking sprouts - he's on his own there because I ain't touching them.

I do it all myself....but then I am divorced, so no partner to moan about or delegate stuff to.

Mind you, the house currently looks like a bomb has hit it because the boys have finally worked out how to wrap presents but not quite how to then tidy those presents into nice little piles. I'm grateful for progress, last year they gave people presents in the bags they bought them in with no wrapping...or just didn't buy presents in the first place.

Don't sweat the small stuff, Christmas is about having a house in chaos, about having fun, not running around being a stress head because someone has arrived 30 minutes late putting the schedule out.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Where did JoJo's post go?! (The one you have quoted meer53...) The ones she posted twice (I think probably accidently!)

Maybe she asked admin to delete one, and they deleted both!

Shame, coz it was a cute post. Made me giggle anyway! :D

No idea. Maybe the OP didn't appreciate it?

Anyhow, the Baby Dinosaur is perfectly cooked and covered with about three boxes of aluminium wrap to foil (sorry) cat plundering and OH has just got around to peeling the spuds.

We will eat. Just a bit later than anticipated.

Shame. I couldn't see anything in it that was offensive. :(

    Your Christmas sounds just perfect

I'm very very lucky with my husband

Yes I do get the hassle of deciding on pressies and buying, but he wraps them

I get up first Christmas morning to put let the dog and chooks out and to get the ham and turkey on and I make him tea and toast whilst I'm there

Then he's beside me the whole way as I cook the dinner, pots washed, veggies dug out and peeled, kitchen cleaned around me

This week he has been a super star. He finished work Friday so this week he has had the house spotless as well as spending most his day building a new chicken house

He's now snoring on the sofa after a belly full of food and drink, but I wouldn't change him for the world

He is a superstar and never ever needs asking - he's on the ball 24/7 when it comes to family- close or extended

Me too Suki...am very lucky with my choice of OH.

Didn't bat an eyelid when I said I'd asked someone to join us for Christmas dinner (he didn't join us after but the offer was there) , he's cooked breakfast rolls , & dinner .....I did the token washing up but he's kept us supplied with drinks since.

As for the op, well I wouldn't have bothered with seating plans or even gone down the route of homemade mince pies ( and if I had I would dare moan about making them) and yes if he works from home then (as my OH occasionally does) I wouldn't have assumed it was fair game until he said he'd finished for Christmas...and if I was a guest, at any time of the year, I'd help with preparations.....why wouldn't you??
