  • Hi everyone!

    NSD 16 here today.

DD is back form her trip - exhausted but had a great time.

Have received a deposit today for a small booking and have had a booking from a friend which I will make a small profit on (mates rates!).

Well done everyone still logging those NSDS. I had to buy bread today do not one here. But I got 3 loaves for 25p each so now have 2 in the freezer.

Got sent a free sample of a nappy and wipes from pampers so going to add those to the score. If I don't spend tommorow or Friday I will hit this month's target which I am going to be amazed at.

Thank youApple going over to check into the new challenge.

A spend day for me - needed some eggs to make fried rice for tea and also treated myself to some chocolate and a pear cider. Got IDed for the cider by a lassie who looked about 20 :rotfl:

1 day till payday! And to the end of this challenge. Fantastic Feb challenge up from apple. I like the idea of back to basics and examining my reasons for getting debt free as soon as I can.

Does everyone else have the council tax break for these next 2 months? Guess what I will be doing with mine ;)

Calling - what a worry, I hope you get it all sorted quickly.

Nothing much to say today, I did my grocery shop last night and need to call at Lidl when I do the school run for a couple of bits I couldn't get at Sainburys. We have finished with our coupons at Sainsburys now so it is back to Lidl for next weeks shop.

Thanks guys for your lovely comments.

I tried to do a credit check on Noodle Bob but it didn't even recognise me. Try another one tomorrow.

I have similar problems with someone who used to rent the house before I bought it, luckily the debt doesn't stay with the house anymore.
Not going to lose any sleep over it.

Trying to get my haircut today if possible as I just feel a mess. so may use my spendy day today if I can get an appt. Need bit of fruit/veg/milk.

Daughters gone now on route for few days in Dubai first.

No payments for me today, seem to be in limbo, waiting for payments to me at moment.

Please don't shout at me. You are all correct, I have gone way past my physical (and possibly mental) capabilities and today I can barely walk and go sick and dizzy when I try to move. May in part be due to a medication imbalance as I have not always had access to my pills at the times they should have been taken and I am definitely de-hydrated. So I will confess all and then remove myself to the naughty chaise-longue to recuperate.

I am over budget on food despite having been 'fed' several times this week (however white bread toast and pies are not good for me). I have bought sandwiches as the 'least bad' option either because I had too many tasks in too many places and once because the 'over-enthusiastic packer' (that's not what I have been calling him in my head) left us with a choice of dry bread or digestive biscuits and took away the biscuits next day - I had a little chuckle in a corner when I found out he had taken all the cutlery and had to stir his tea with a plastic medicine spoon.

I am over budget on travel despite having set a generous amount. I had an agreement that the move was not happening yet and had allowed enough to go and start organised orderly packing. Despite several car trips I couldn't have got through the week without using buses and taxis.

I am not sure if my figures for food or travel are entirely accurate as I lost track and have also been given a contribution towards them. I may have missed things. There will also be some food waste, the pre-Xmas veg and early December dairy products I was trying to use (+ a mackerel and some cooked chicken I took out to make sandwiches at the weekend) will have to go - the veg I chopped has turned to liquid in the fridge, meat and fish were bought YS, have been frozen for 2- 3 months and then defrosted and left in fridge.

I have also failed the making money challenge. I have a piece of furniture I intend to sell. I love this sideboard but my sons hate it and it is needs some attention and it's getting too heavy for me to be able to move it around so I would prefer it to go to a new home where it will be loved. I was going to phone a dealer to come and look at it but I haven't been home.

    GOOD NEWS
I am debt free. I have an emergency fund. I will be staying with the turtles (as long as you will have me) as I still need to live fairly frugally to get to retirement and after it. there are still lots of new challenges for me.

I did purchase two things on my wishlist yesterday, at budget prices. I bought a lipstick for £3 (normally £8.99) and perfume (well spray on thing) for £5. The lipstick is a 'nude' shade and the scent is 'fresh ginger' (might help wake me up). Not hings I use a lot (or at all since the ones I had ran out) but if they turn out to be 'mistakes' I haven't wasted much.

Last night I went back to the 'hovel' as a neighbour was collecting some unwanted furniture. I met someone from mum's church on the bus and need to phone her about taking across some items for church and some for individual church members. Another church friend called whilst I was waiting to say someone else could take on assembling the church magazine (mum needs help to do it) and took away one of the bags I had prepared). I also located some family photos and other items mum was worried about and left notes on others.

Whilst we have been given instructions not to throw away (or even touch) any of mum's partners belongings, some of our family possessions have not been accorded the same respect. I have taken temporary custody of some items but have not been able to find the photo of mum holding the Rugby League Cup final trophy or the photo of mum holding DS2 which has gone from the windowsill but so far has not arrived at the bungalow.

In addition being in close contact with some (not all) people who are routinely racist, sexist or homophobic (or all three) is not good for my mental health. I feel ashamed for not challenging it but am following DS3's mantra 'Don't argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience'.

Today I have been for my counselling appointment, having done yet another errand first (did find someone to drive me though). I asked DS3 to go and buy me sandwiches earlier (I used the last of the cheese for breakfast) so that I could come back to bed afterwards.

The money I was owed has now cleared (so I have emergency money) - need to decide on a savings account. I said in December that I would have a 'delayed Christmas' when I was debt free so I have told DS3 to order Indian takeaway later (Monday - Thursday deal is much better than the weekend deal).

If I can later I will get a small Iceland order (to be delivered). I still have sprouts. parsnips and other veg which I froze and some hm ready meals, just need a little more variety. Will count that as coming off February budget as have usually bought loads in advance at this stage.

I would also like to buy a dress that makes me feel good and two pairs of leggings in next size down - would like two dresses but think finding one would be good, two might be too much to ask.

Today I am grateful for people who listen, for being allowed to relax and being at home (needs a lot of work and has been sadly neglected but feels comfortable).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
