Hope you're all doing well, not had a chance (again sorry!!) to catch up, but I hope you are all doing well. Just wanted to pop in and say hello and that I am still lurking!!
Think I'm going to write off this month and probably next month too as I am going to be really busy with work.
Will hopefully be a bit more regular on here in a couple of month.

Sorry for no check in yesterday, I left home at approx 9.15 am and have just got home. DS3 was not impressed. On Sunday he was waiting up to give me the 'Molly Weasley' speech on getting home after midnight and I didn't go home until Monday. This time I got "You could have at least phoned" - no because the bungalow isn't connected yet.

Thought mum's partner might come out of hospital last night, 2 of his sons and 2 daughters rushed off for visiting/ coming home leaving mum and I without a phone. I wouldn't leave because an awful lot of stuff had just been dumped. Mum and I cleared what we could (with me doing the lifting and shifting) until 9 pm (she wanted to watch the second half of a two part drama). I have been up again since 4 am.

However have rearranged the main bedroom how mum wants it, set up the bed in the second bedroom, put away four bin bags of bedding, filled the rubbish and paper bins, brought home another five bags for charity shop/ people at church, cleared all the random items that were all over the floor of the second bedroom and done some diy. Homecoming was postponed until this morning which gave us time to get more done.

Have spent money both days (so no extra NSDs) but have been refunded/ given money to cover what I have spent (all day ticket yesterday as did multiple bus hops) so no impact on my budget. I have to go and buy curtain rings and a new ironing board cover and then decide whether to sleep for a while or go and do more work at the hovel before 6.30; then have to go back to house as a neighbour's son is having the old couch and table and chairs.

I have a list as I am too tired to think, just keep looking through the list to see what I am supposed to be doing. I have another (much needed) counselling appointment tomorrow.

Have read your posts but have already fallen asleep twice whilst writing this. Looping forward to February.

  • Evening turtles!

Apologies but have not checked in for the last 2 days and have no further NSD's to report, which means I'll have to be very good for the remaining 4 days of the month to hit target! :rotfl:

Monday went and helped mum decorate, got a free carton of almond milk that she bought for me but didn't use in her cooking. Hubby and I have a lot of smoothies and shakes and go through this stuff like no one's business so saves me buying more before the end of the month/next pay day.
Then went to a gig on Monday evening after I'd washed the paint flecks out of my eyebrows :rotfl: minimal spend on a couple of drinks for DH and myself - £12.

Tuesday had to go and buy bread and Marm1te, plus biscuits for a meeting in work (was my turn) - £5.75. Still just within my £200 guessed-it grocery budget I'd set myself for the first time ever this month. Got about £13 to see us through to next Friday.

Today both DH and I had back-to-work blues after having the last 10 days off and were both on early shifts (this is a rarity, our shift patterns usually mean we are ships that pass in the night!). We made the executive decision after listening to the howling wind when our alarms went off at 3:15am that we would share a taxi to work instead of fighting with the wind/brolly combo on the walk in with clean DRY uniforms in our bags. Much better way to start the day and worth the £8 spent between us. Uniforms now safely stashed in our changing rooms at work so doesn't matter if we get soaked tomorrow morning!

Sorry to hear your frustrating news Calling.

Mother nerd do look after yourself otherwise you'll be in danger of burning out. Superb efforts so far though. :T

Hugs to everyone else who needs or wants them.

Am just cooling down after having a pre-bedtime bath that has slightly cooked me!!! Sleep well turtles.

    Good evening.

Missed work today and had a meeting with the two bosses instead. Heading back tomorrow with an action plan.
Have finally managed to get my head around the past few days and am improving although in no way back to normal. Just want to survive tomorrow to prove to myself that I can do the job.
Don't really know much else to say about it to be honest. Just held on to the ledge with my fingertips and am trying to hoist myself back up.

On a positive note... paid an extra £200 to my mortgage today. Hooray!!
    :j

As usual, we are absolutely broke as it is the end of the month (don't get paid until the 1st) however we have done a lot with our money post credit card.
OH should be able to pay off his credit card at the end of February. So that is another bit of good news.

Will see how tomorrow goes. Fingers crossed.
    Hugs to everyone.

  • A spend day today - cat has been to the vet - she has a virus:(

Only cost £40 which I did not think was too bad - vet visits are usually anything from £70 up to £500:eek:

Also had to get a new cat carrier as dog had managed to chew the edges on our current one:mad:

Hoping tomorrow will be a no spend day.

  • Hi everyone
Another nsd today. Managed to get a free feed at school - head of department treated us to pizza during the team meeting (which consisted of the two of us) but I am shattered and that is no lie. I felt fine all day at work but then got home this evening and have crashed a bit. I feel physically sick - although hopefully it's just because my body isn't used to pizza rather than my teaching kids that are rife with glandular fever, colds and tonsillitis. I couldn't leave my head of department as the last man standing, although I have warned him that if he has a day off I'm definitely going on the sick :rotfl:
