because of the non existent details no?

No date, no time, no car registration, no photographic evidence and most importantly no location!

RE: Parking Eye Limited = Outstanding Parking Charge
    then
Parking Eye Ltd has written to you recently about the above reference unpaid Parking Charge. As payment has not been received, the matter has now been passed to Equita Ltd with instructions to recover the outstanding sum of £185:00 in full

The pattern I am seeing is that they were sent to those who ignored completely the automated letters that was sent out by ParkingEye in 2013

So it's 2013 this week, next week 2014 batch?
  • Are any of the posters in Scotland? An RK of my acquaintance hasn't received any despite having had a few bundles of bog roll from PE.

anyone in Scotland can just forget them , UNLESS they have "outed" themselves to PE yrs ago or are foolish enough to ring this shower and admit to driving , POFa does not apply in scotland

These letters are designed to unsettle you.
I know if my wife opened one she would be quaking, so I don't even tell her.
Maintain a strong backbone! They are waiting for the weak ones amongst us to raise our hands and volunteer for a shafting.
They dont have anything on you and if they did you wouldn't be getting a mass produced letter
  • So I emailed the British parking with a complaint after receiving the equita letter yesterday and ive received the following email.

Please be advised the BPA are a membership organisation and not a regulatory body and therefore we cannot become involved with individual ticket disputes.

We suggest you contact Parking Eye directly to resolve the issue and receive further information.! They can be contacted on 01772 450 970.

    So what to do next?

If you fancy sticking your head above the parapet

    Dear Parking Eye
    Re ..

I have received a demand from your sister company Equita presumably for a supposed parking infraction .As I am unaware of this matter can you please provide me with your original paperwork that supposedly informed me of such a debt .
As I am aware parking charges such as these are limited to a maximum of £ 100 by your trade association's code of practice would you care to explain how the sum in excess of £100 is arrived at . In addition as I am presumably being written to as the Registered Keeper of the vehicle and you are presumably relying on the provisions of schedule 4 of POFA this statute limits the amount that you can attempt to reclaim to the original parking charge .
For clarity , any debt is denied in its entirety . Should you disagree may I suggest that this matter is referred to POPLA for adjudication , eliminating the need for increasing costs for all parties . Alternatively you may wish to inform me that the debt has been cancelled .
    I expect a reply within 7 days .
    .

    Yours

Alternatively ignore or simply write to Equita advising them to cease further contact as the debt is denied and to refer the matter back to their client .
Return if you receive a letter before action .

    as advised on Pepipoo:

Provided the RK foes not identify themselves as the driver POFA only allows for the collection of the original parking charge , not these ficticiously inflated amounts .
Either write to Equita with a simple letter stating the debt is denied please refer the matter back to their client ( Parking Eye ) and cease further contact or ignore .
If you receive a letter before action from Parking Eye return here .
Good to see Parking Eye driving up standards in the parking profession .
Happy Christmas to all of you too in Eaton Avenue
