The top number, it says 'page cannot be displayed' i.e. no internet.

The bottom number, it asks me to connect and theres a gap for username & password.

Do I enter the details in here?

I keep having to unplug the router..

I have just entered 'username' > 'password' in this box, and it thinks about it for a min then 'page cannot be displayed' , but the 'connect' box is still there.

    fuzzgun19,

The page you pasted above in post 67 is from the Netgear website... are you sure you're not getting confused? Go back to that step, then try typing http://www.google.co.uk or something into the address bar of your internet browser...

  • If by simply unplugging the yellow cable between the PC and the router means you can get to websites like Google, BBC, etc means that your pc is communicating wirelessly with the router and the router is correctly connected to the internet via the cable modem.

    Is this the case?

I have Blue going Router(internet port) to PC
and Yellow one going from router(LAN port) to modem.

The router has a modem in it already... the LAN port from the router should go straight to the BT connection in the wall (via a line filter)
