Sounds like a DNS problem then.
I had a similar problem with a LYNKSYS router I had a couple of years ago, but got it to work eventually, and there was not a cable plugged in the back of my PC, but I can't remember how i did it now.
Seriously pi**ed off with this now, thought these things were supposed to be straight forward.

Yes when the cable is not in back of my PC, If I connect it like the wizzard tells me to, then I lose connection.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0

No, and I don't know how to.
Could you tell me?
You may not need to do this if you switch off both the modem and the router, then power up the modem and when the lights have settled after a couple of minutes, power up the router. It should then automatically get the necessary settings.
