How do I find out IP address and other things??

Sounds like the PC might be connected to the router's WAN port and the cable modem to one of the router's LAN ports.

Check your connections.

I mean I cannot access the internet... 'Page cannot be displayed'

There is no 'WAN' port on the router, only 'LAN' ones and an 'Internet' one...

The 'Internet' one is the WAN port.

What modem do you have? I saw a post on Google where someone had the same problem as you with an NTL Home 120 modem.

When it is plugged into the back of PC and i click on your link, then yes I can get a 'google' page!

But if I plug it back in, I lose connection again.

Sounds like a DNS problem then.

So are you saying that if you connect the cable modem directly to the PC you get internet but if you plug the modem into the router and then the router into the pc you don't?
