No. We just have free evening and weekend calls.

I can imagine even that might interfere with the free calls free upgrade.

I'm not quite as critical of TT as some here - I think they are trying to do something that will (a) please many customers and (b) show off some of their options and products to customers who may not have tried them otherwise.

However, this particular issue of the Free Calls bundle being the only viable choice from the 4 options but many customers not qualifying for it, does not seem to have been thought through.

It would be good for Emma/TT to provide a definitive statement as to whether there is some workaround for customers or not.

  • That is what I did. I spoke to one of their advisers who refused to give me the upgrade offered, saying that he was not authorised to do so. I asked to speak to someone who would be able to give me the upgrade. After being on hold for about 15 minutes more, a more senior adviser said the same as the first one. I asked again to speak to someone who would have the power to give me what they had offered in the email. I was told a Senior Manager would ring me in 48 hours. It is now about 96 hours later and nothing!

something dont sound right here. instead of calling customer support, try using the free phone number for upgrades on the talktalk website. you have under ten days to go, so i would simply remain calm and try again, with the words "I would like to claim my free upgrade please" dont use any other number, just the 0800 upgrade number.

alternatively you could also ask customer support to put you through to the loyalty team, who have a little more power.

if you do little and expect talktalk to sort this out online, you will run out of time. ie get on the blower now, and use lots of chartm and smiles

  • I have followed your advice and it worked!!! They have given me a new package with unlimited UK landline calls for 12 months - what we wanted. I realise I am locked into the package for 18 months, but a rapid calculation shows that we shall certainly make a saving overall.
    Many thanks!

i am so pleased you finally got what you wanted. just remember, this is only for 12 months, after this date, it will simply be removed from your package, by which time you will call again and secure the package once more free.

glad my advise worked, make sure you click my thank button before
