Talk Talk Free Upgrades

I would get the hell out, even without the hack TT were sharing your payment data with credit reference agencies even though you are not taking credit.
I used to love TT, now I would not touch them with a barge pole, every part of dealing with them is a stitch up, from Broadband and Line rental having different lengths so you can never leave without paying extra to all the increased call rates and slip wires to trip you up.
No wonder they have to bribe you to stay with them. Thanks, don't you just hate people with sigs !0 -
Hi Everyone,
if you have any questions or queries about the free upgrades please feel free to contact us on the dedicated help line number on the help page. You can also tweet us @TalkTalkCare or contact us on our online community forum which can be found on our website.
Thanks

Hello TT I don't think you can do anything about the meagre offer from TT0

We have broadband and landline from TalkTalk. We received an email today offering us a choice of free upgrades including unlimited landline calls, the one we wanted. BUT, once logged in to my account, I found that this was not one of the options on offer. I rang them and, after a long wait spoke to someone who said that our package did not offer the upgrade despite the wording of the email! I asked to speak to his manager - another long wait - and was told the same thing. I am now waiting for someone more senior to ring back. It is shocking that TalkTalk can offer an upgrade choice that is not available in practice. We have to wait 48 hours. If do end up with the upgrade we were offered in the email, I shall post a reply here.0

When I logged in to my account, there were no options given, just a message to call the number. (I have a bespoke, negotiated package, so that could be the reason).
When I called, I got the three upgrade options I was expecting, and didn't bother to enquire about TV. The call centre op noticed that I was out of contract, and asked if I'd like to speak with the Loyalty Team, which I did.
I got my existing negotiated price (£27.70 per month for Fibre BB) fixed on a new 18 month contract, and my 12 months free calls extended to 18 months).
Happy customer.
... But I have 20 days cooling down period if anyone knows of a better deal.
Plusnet would be £28.65 average over 18 months without free calls, or £34.65 with free calls.0 -
Normally no cooling off period on a contract extension? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Normally no cooling off period on a contract extension?
He definitely said "20 days to change my mind". Is it because I was already out of contract?
TBH, since Plusnet are way over the TT price, I can't see anyone else getting close to it. EE possibly, but I'm somewhat dubious about their customer service.0 -

That's the pull of Talk Talk, they're cheap so you tend to put up with them.
ARE there any good, reasonably priced ISPs out there with good customer service? I know Zen are supposed to be good but they're not available in my area.0 -

Yes...?
We aren't talking about notice to quit when out of contract, though. We are talking about a cooling-off period at the start of a new contract.0
