I am turning into an imposter! I have done nothing, and mean nothing, all week. But then we have had a good week the three of us. Went to the re enactment thingie, been to the swimming pool for an aqua fun session. Went to Clumber park and went chasing in and out of the rhododendrons and trees, was too calm to try flying the kite. Took Nannie and Grandad food shopping (good brownie points ;) )went to see Daddy and sort all his flowers and vases out. Finally yesterday we popped into work as my friend and colleague is moving to another office and it was her last day. When anyone leves our place we do a buffet lunch and all chip in. So today we have slobbed round here all day, DD and I have made pom poms this afternoon. DS is now watching a steam train DVD!

So as you can see, been busy but not flying busy! TBH I had decided that this week was going to be a fun week for us all and so it has been. But oh boy do I need to get this place back on the straight and narrow! So when they are back at school (my baby starting full time next week, can see moist eyes coming!) I 'should' have oodles of time to do lots of 30 min challenges. Think this will be the best way to start off with.

Sounds like you have all been busy, sorry to hear about the PITA kids hopefully school will settle them all back down next week. lil_me sonic is soooo cute.

Please don't make me hand in my feather duster, I promise I will knuckle down and eliminate the CHAOS from this house.

  • What a lazy afternoon I've had. Apart from my 1 hour banishment where I did the outside windows and got all my mum's cast off plants dug in I've slobbed. I read all the bits of the saturday paper that I bother with and fought sleep. Realised that I haven't drunk any water today which always makes me feel 'floppy'. Getting rehydrated and going to do something useful this evening.
I was supposed to be out tonight with 'The man I'm Not Seeing' but the cheeky bleeder hasn't been in touch, better have a good reason.. fume..

Anybody read the Living with Teenagers column in the Saturday Guardian? It terrifies me (as do Teens!) I take my hat off to all you with teens and pre-teens and agree with Dusty that it wasn't like that when I was a teen. Becca, you sound like you have your work cut out with DD, have a hug from me too.

Going to copycat and do my Money and meal plan thing and wake myself up before I find a job that during next week I'll be glad I bothered to do!

Thanks you guys, for the hugs and the thought.
The thing which makes it all more difficult, is that DD2 is my stepdaughter. She lives with us full time (DD3 is Stepdaughter too) but DD2 and I haven't been getting along for ages now.. and it seems to be getting worse.

Any idea's on how to handle this sort of thing are quite welcome (I know this is not a parenting thread)

Anyway.. did fold a huge pile of washing, but that's about it. Still not feeling well, and still a headache.

    hopefully be better soon.

Becca, it may seem mad and the last thing you want to do with her right now, expecting the 'you haven't got a hope' response, but have you thought of just you and DD2 going out for the day, a few hours, maybe even an evening together doing something nice. Would give you a chance to enjoy spending some time together and maybe chance to talk through the problems. I've always said before you build a bridge it needs a foundation to start on.

Does sound like a possble water infection for little squirt poor darling, I was told with DS2 to increase how much they are drinking to at least eight glasses of fluid a day. Juices such as barley water and cranberry may help aswell.

We're all with you, might only be able to offer virtual hugs across the miles but I hope it helps :) if there wasn't a big amount of water (I don't swim too well) between us I would be there to give you a hand as it all seems a little overwhelming for you at the minute. Stay strong! (oh and sod the housework until you are feeling better) If it gets too much ring your hubby and get him to come straight back, I know what the 'RC widow' thing feels like believe me but if you need him there then it'll just have to be tough luck!

Hmm haven't dared update my crossing off because I've done so little :o Sat here hand feeding Sonic some scrambled egg and mince, he's loving it and taking it from my hand :) getting there with him slowly
One day I might be more organised...........

The shop aren't getting any more in until.. after christmas!!!! They had no black sweatshirts for DS1.. not one!!! Thankfully they don't 'have' to be worn so he can get away without one so long as the weather stays decent. They didn't have a cap for him either so he will have to make do with his old one for a short time.. they are ringing when these are in stock.. should be next week or the week after. I spent £65 on stationery!!!!!!!!! That didn't include pencils, bags or rubbers!!

    Evening all.

Becca - you have my sympathy with DD - mine is only 4 and that has been bad enough the last few days so will take any suggestions given and store for later use. Do think Lil_me's advice may be worth a try, perhaps she is feeling a little out of the loop, I remember feeling a bit weird during my "hormone years" unfortunately I am still having them lol! Hope your feeling a little better!

Well we were at the bit Tesco at BarHill for 8am this morning. Picked up basic groceries (was gonna do big shop but couldnt face it). Got DD2 some new clothes, bless her she usually has DD1 hand-me-downs. Had to buy DD1 new t-shirt and some undies so she didnt feel left out. We cleaned the car this afternoon, hose on the pressure washer has split for DH got soaked (did he look happy about it, err, NO! lol). Got a new wii game so girls had a go on that with Daddy while I sat watching and doing online tesco shop.

Was gonna head off to the beach tomorrow but now given rain so will see what its like in the morning.

Thinking of getting a woof but not sure whether to go for rescue dog (most seem to need to be homed with older kids) or puppy route?? Think we will continue to think about it for a bit longer.

Just realised this has nothing to do with flying really lol sorry rum has kicked in and I am "chatting" away as usual.

    Hi everyone,

Thought I'd better let you all know that I'm not going to be around much for the next few months. I'm about to start some new work which is going to keep me occupied almost full time (I'm self employed and have to grab it when I can!).

I'll be checking on Lil-me's list as often as I can and reading an odd few posts, but won't be able to do much more than that. Good luck to you all with the flying. Will probably be able to join in more with the chatter after Christmas.

I'm hoping that the flying habits I've learnt over the last few months won't desert me!

Lots of love to you all,

    Mermaid
