Night night L, I'm sure everything will be fine

Oh did I add stupid bloke of the week award goes to my partner. Here is why -

'Where is the laminator?' he asks, 'In the PC room' I reply

Next I hear 'Where is there some more paper and pouches'

My reply -'Why you printed all the posters'

His reply 'Yes but I got mixed up and thought the shredder was the laminator'

:rotfl: well I was crying laughing, what a plonker!
One day I might be more organised...........

  • Morning everyone.

We are off to Salisbury in a while to go and visit DH's dad in hospital.
They reckon he's going to be in there for about another month or so.

So I won't be getting much achieved here today.

Last night I updated my finances and did a meal plan for the next 2 weeks using things from the freezer, I am determined to get a real hold over the food budget.

I still haven't written DS's name in his school clothes so I'm going to go and do that NOW.

Lil_me- what your DH did make me giggle! :rotfl:

Have a good Saturday everyone and I hope the sun is shining wherever you are.
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

    Morning everyone!

Can I just say, I really missed you all yesterday when I had to work all day. I only got a half hour lunch break, and managed to read all of the thread up until then, but ran out of time to write a reply.

Had a good day at work, although I'm not used to working for a long period of time any more (8 1/2 hours - 8.30-5.00). Someone brought in cookies and those mini bitesize brownies and chocolate caramel shortbreads - I'm hoping this is a regular Friday thing, as it means next week I'll be able to have treats too (I'm only there for a week). Then, to top it all off, one of the girls had made an apple crumble, and insisted we all have a piece heated up with double cream (yummy) - I hate to think how many calories I must have consumed yesterday! The job itself is fairly boring and monotonous (data entry in a database, which makes your eyes go funny), but the people are all really nice, and there is free tea and coffee and plenty of banter.

Forgot to say lil_me that Sonic is SOOOO CUTE!!! Showed him to OH and he thought he was as well. I want one now, but couldn't really have one, as the cat would try to eat it. He's got really good at catching moths recently, and then he eats them (gross).

Hugs to all of those who need them, and congratulations for everyone's hard work. I'm now feeling really guilty that I haven't done much flying this week, but then I have been doing a lot of hours. WM is on at the mo, doing a darks wash, so that I have some clothes to wear to work at 12 (pub). Must hang it out as soon as it has finished, and then shoot off to do a food shop after I've washed my hair and eaten brekkie. Can hear the WM doing a fast spin now, so don't think it will be too long, so I'd best stop chatting, and get a wriggle on.

Will try to check in when I can today, but if I don't manage to get on here for some reason, have a really nice weekend everyone, especially those of you with children who go back to school next week, and for all of the teachers who do too.

    Sexymouse xx

  • Back from work early, I was on with the Efficient Team this morning which helps. Also I'd got there too early to fetch the post from the sorting office so I had a trolley dash round the local Asda to get the bits I didn't get at T's last night. Great way to stop me over buying when I know I've only got 20 mins to be in and out!

Lil_me, what a dafty! Did he laugh as much as you did?
Sexymouse, that sounds like a nice place to be working. But I bet you're glad it's not a permanent thing with all those temptations!
jamie, I get more done when I'm not on the computer too. I'm going to banish myself for an hour to see what I can get done. The list is buzzing round my head and I don't know where to start!
    BM
    Windows in and out
Dig some plants in that have been in carriers since Monday
    lawn
    Car wash
There's more but I'd spend another 10 mins on here putting it all off..

Have a lovely day. It's clear skies and a whipping wind if anyone wants to fetch their laundry round, I've none left!

Solway no he didn't laugh as much as I did but he went a pretty shade of beetroot :rotfl:Suprised he didn't break the shredder when he put the pouches through it, it's not a very strong one.

Tinselfairy hope the visit goes well, fingers crossed he's on the mend and out as soon as possible

Sexymouse I have no doubt that if you got one the cat would soon be put off, my dogs have 'sharp' learned not to stick their noses in :D does make trying to handle him harder and I try to keep them out of the way while I am trying to get him to stop spiking.

:o as for getting more done when not on computer, that's why I do half hour challenges banishing myself. I find if I don't go online at all I have no motivation, but too much can make it worse

Well I made a major boo boo, I've naffed up the finances, not written down some things which have been paid out of the bank and now have about £150 less left at the end of this month than I thought which was to be put away for Christmas. I wondered why when I checked to see if I could afford Sonic I had so much :o oh well, what's done is done, he's here now, will have to put extra away next month. Just another kick up the toosh to keep to my GC target this month!

So that was my first task of the day, check through statements online and what was written down. Well actually I did sort the BBQ receipts, I did well actually at sticking to the budget for that, wanted to break even, ticket sales £75 spent £70.31 :D just need to get the spending for us as good!

Left to do (inc dailies left)
    [strike]
Wash load from DS2s bed (wet it last night, why when I have just changed it!)
    Cloth wash[/strike]
[STRIKE]Darks wash (will empty wash basket) [/STRIKE]
    Vacuum through downstairs and mop
    Disinfect dogs room
Put laundry away that is upstairs :o bit of a mountain
Socks sort :o kids have about 40 pairs and none in their drawers so must be in the basket
Sort through shop stock list and takings, receipts for stock and cash box sort
[STRIKE]Make sheperds pie for dinner [/STRIKE]
    Wash bath & sink out
    [STRIKE]Clean toilet [/STRIKE]
Find something for packed lunches tomorrow & make
[STRIKE]Sort through freezer [/STRIKE]and fridge stock, make meal plan and shopping list
Put names in school clothes (still got a lot to do :o)
Sort through school stuff and make sure we have EVERYTHING! also check shoes still fit I bought few weeks ago
One day I might be more organised...........
