Cool! I have a thing about hedgehogs - I love them. Though I have to confess I've never heard of a pygmy hedgehog. Do they eat all the stuff full-sized hedgehogs eat?

Have fun getting the hedgehog house,

Tiddles is emptying the bag of shopping all over the floor.. and she got most excited at the top of the stairs when she saw the bag contained cereal bars.. I swear this child is part squirrel.. what with porridge and cereal bars.. she also likes prawns!! and cockles.. and doughnuts!!! she wasn't keen on the candy floss though.. she kept wiping her nose with it saying it was cotton wool... guess what we use when we run out of tissue!!

anyway.. DS1 has been sent to collect the 4 middle muppets from summer club.. DD1 is at a friends DD4 is upstairs watching some brain rotting trash on the pc.. and I AM going to play catch up today.. the front room is a pit and my bedroom is just a bin!!

I NEED to do more ebay pics and post these parcels (sending DS1 to do those shortly!.. He loves it when I send him lol!!)

  • Good afternoon!
Back from doing the payroll! Spent 15 minutes trying to fax the flipping thing to the bank - only to realise after all that time that some wally had disconnected the phone line (for reasons best known to themselves - AAARRRGGHH)
Anyway - came back to find DH (on hols today) - having dusted and cleaned tv/dvd/stereo and speakers. He had also hoovered downstairs and put on the DW - all without being asked! Less flying for me today!!
He was having probs cleaning the speaker covers and wondered if any of my 'bag-lady cyber friends' (I did say FLY lady!!) - had any ideas?? I promised to ask!!!
Plans for later - walk with kiddies (my last week of hollies with them), uploading some baby stuff onto Ebay and maybe making flapjacks (or flat-chacks as DD2 calls them). Tonight - some work-work and then on with the ironing!!

Yep they eat what hedgehogs do, got to get some spikes dinner or cat food, mealworms etc I buy for my lizard anyway and it can have those. Need a 3ft hutch type of thing, litter tray, nest box and lots of other stuff, going to cost me a fortune as the hedgehogs £150! aswell so big spending day but I have been waiting nearly a year for one. Oh and that cat food whiskas sent me when I don't have a kitty will now have a good use. http://www.britnett-carver.co.uk/c2c/exoticmammals.html there is a piccy of one, these are 8 weeks old and teensy but will be fully grown in 12-14 weeks, about 4-5 inches long usually, smaller than british hedgehogs. I will post a photo when I get him/her.

I did have a soak in the bath this morning to relieve aches which helped loads, my hands still look dirty even though I've scrubbed and soaked them, DP says he can't see it but I can, will just have to keep trying to get it off.

Tracyg what a lovely tribute, I would have been emotional too

Pigpen, tiddles sounds like a right little character, love the wiping nose on candy floss, made me laugh a little too loud :o

Shell ((hugs)) you could have a word with the health visitor, they will usually suggest looking at diet, sleeping patterns etc first from my experience. It could be anxiety which can bring the devil out in my son, reassurance and talking about what may concern them is really the only way to do anything when it comes to anxiety. Using conversation such as 'we know you might be a little worried but.....' as saying 'there is nothing to worry about' is no good for anxiety, just makes them angry as they think you don't believe them and won't help them. Sounds like you've had a right time with her, hope she is calmer today. Unfortunately you're the closest person to her most likely so you will probably get the biggest tantrums, will usually find especially in anxious children they will got for 'flight' rather than 'fight' with other people. Maybe if her understanding is good agree a 'talk to mummy time' where she knows at that time each day she has mummy to herself to talk about anything she is worried about to stop her getting angry, or nice things if there is something she wants to tell you? Could maybe do it twice a day at first, once on a morning and once on an evening, just so she can talk about anything she wants to. It gives her that time where she knows she has your full attention, even when we give kids a lot they feel left out sometimes because of siblings, especially when they are the oldest. Of course at these times also talk about the good things she will be able to do at school and nice things you can do on the way home or at home after and before. Sometimes oldests don't like going to school as they think they are going to miss out on something at home when they are away, some see it as you're sending them away even, sad but true as I've known many children to say it.

  • A hedgepig cooooooool! Very cute, but what does it do, or is it a pointless pet like my guineapig and you just enjoy them anyway.:D
