    evening ladies
Havent read todays posts, hope everyone is having a good day and lots of ((hugs)) to anyone who needs them.

I'm shattered. Had a fab day, lovely and sunny here, spent morning gassing in cafe in gym whilst kids in creche for hour and a half, then went straight to our local country park and met another friend for a picnic. Kids were generally happy just to play - they did the wooden tractor/train play area, the adventure playground, the sand pit and finally the bouncy castles. All good fun.

When we got back at 4ish I had a sudden rush of blood to the head and put a loaf of bread on in the BM, baked banana muffins, baked plum and cinnamon oat slices and have got a load of cheese veg enchiladas in the over for dinner. And I've even tidied the kitchen and done jigsaws with DS. DD had a big sleep otherwise no way I would have got all that done.

The 3 of us are sitting in frot of the idiot box waiting for hubby.
    Ah thats him now!
    Will catch up properly later,

I have still done nothing - where is my motivation. I am blaming it on not feeling great at pmt, I want my energy back!

tracy it sounds like you are coping really well with your friend's loss. It never ever seems quite real somehow especially when the person was relatively young. I still can't believe DH won't come back home but having A & W around has certainly helped me and I am sure your friend's children will give her DH the strength to cope with the coming months. I found it especially hard about 3 months after it had happened to us, after the initial flurry of people offering help etc things calmed down and they stopped calling. Which was precisely the time I did need a friendly ear/helping hand as that was when the enormity really started to hit home. And being used to sorting thongs out ourselves I found it hard to ask for help (still do if I am honest). There are two things I would suggest, keep offering help to your friend's DH (which I know you will) even if he says he is ok (or just run little errands for him without waiting to be asked) and don't forget all of you to keep talking about your friend and your feelings. My friend decided that I AM going to go out every Thursday night bellringing and she would babysit!

I have always maintained that if you are happy with where you are in life then there should be no regrets as everything that has gone before has brought us to where we are now - bit profound but relevant I think.

I hope you don't feel that I am trying to teach you to suck eggs and sorry for the waffling on!

sending you hugs shell life sounds tough in your house at the mo. From your description it does sound like lil_me said about DD possibly being anxious about returning to school? I really empathise with you and send lots of hugs. W can be a hand full at times and I do despair with him at times. For him I do think it is his frustration at not being able to articulate his feelings properly. If you can do try the talking things through and reassurance ideas. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Thanks for that, think its a brilliant way of looking at things. Its really good to get some advice from someone who's lost their partner, thank you. Feel a bit out of my depth with it all really but am trying to be there for her DH (she was my 1st cousin), we don't really get along so its hard but I'm trying. Me and DH agreed to be LO guardian if anything happened to them so am trying to be there for her and help her.

So, move is happening on Friday, loads and loads to do but am not getting anywhere fast tonight so am having a full day at it tomorrow. DH is off so looking after DS and everything is being slung in boxes! It'll be fine lol!

Hopefully I'll be on tomorrow night but if not you know where I am. Things are set up for the phone/internet but bet it'll be a while before I'm up and running. See you tomorrow and thanks again everyone xxx

    Evening all

Firstly HUGE thanks for all the words of wisdom on the DD1 "hulk" situation. Following our chat this morning we had a much improved day. She kicked off just before teatime but just pushed me a couple of times. We have been doing tick and crosses reward chart but putting a x on seems to make things worse so gonna have to work on a new idea there.

As for flying, that came to a bit of a standstill. We made some apple muffins which went down well with everyone - lets just say out of 12 there are now none left:eek: , so they can be made for DD1 pack up. Think will make double batch tomorrow and freeze some.

    So this pm I:-

    Made muffins
Me and girls sat and scoffed some muffins
    Made chicken nuggets
Played puppies (they really want a dog:rolleyes: )
Did tea then scoffed rest of muffins (even DH likes them and they are slightly healthy - well got fruit in;) )

So just sat watching rubbish telly but off to bed at 9.30 feel shattered.

Must take chicken out of freezer for tomorrows tea - night night all x

  • Good evening everyone,

It's a miracle - I survived my first run in over 8 months! I nearly wimped out when I phoned to check it was on and was told that yes it was happening, but the beginners would have to go out with everyone else as they were one leader short. I've just checked on-line (very sad I know) and we did over 5k - so I've reckoned I've earned the beer that is beside me just now!

Tracyg - I'm so sorry about your cousin. I hope you are managing to cope somehow. I think it is wonderful that in the middle of all the sadness she has given 6 people a really precious gift with the organ donation.

Sexymouse - I'm glad you got your work sorted out. Far better to have too much work than too little!

My list is not too bad:
    Wednesday, Master Bedroom & Landing
    Level 1
    [strike]Check fire alarms are working[/strike]
[strike]Vacuum floor in bedroom and on landing[/strike]
    Level 2
[strike]Remove bed linen and wash, replace with fresh[/strike]
    [strike]Clean window & wipe windowsill[/strike]
    Level 3
    [strike]Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs[/strike]
[strike]Vacuum mattress before replacing with fresh linen
    [/strike]
    Wipe doors and handles

Right I'm off for a long soak in the bath - and then to bed with nice clean sheets. Have a good night everyone - and don't stay up too late chatting!
