  • Good evening everyone,

    It's a miracle - I survived my first run in over 8 months! I nearly wimped out when I phoned to check it was on and was told that yes it was happening, but the beginners would have to go out with everyone else as they were one leader short. I've just checked on-line (very sad I know) and we did over 5k - so I've reckoned I've earned the beer that is beside me just now!

    Tracyg - I'm so sorry about your cousin. I hope you are managing to cope somehow. I think it is wonderful that in the middle of all the sadness she has given 6 people a really precious gift.

    Sexymouse - I'm glad you got your work sorted out. Far better to have too much work than too little!

    My list is not too bad:
    Wednesday, Master Bedroom & Landing
    Level 1
    [strike]Check fire alarms are working[/strike]
    [strike]Vacuum floor in bedroom and on landing[/strike]
    Level 2
    [strike]Remove bed linen and wash, replace with fresh[/strike]
    [strike]Clean window & wipe windowsill[/strike]
    Level 3
    [strike]Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs[/strike]
    [strike]Vacuum mattress before replacing with fresh linen
    [/strike]
    Wipe doors and handles

    Right I'm off for a long soak in the bath - and then to bed with nice clean sheets. Have a good night everyone - and don't stay up too late chatting!

    Shell with the reward chart, either she will have to get used to getting a cross, or you could just not give her a tick, kids don't like punishment and you will get worse behaviour before it gets better, hang in there and whatever you choose to do stick with it, the key is consitency, regardless of how much she kicks, screams or threatens to never love you again, don't back down and make sure everyone who looks after her inc your partner etc follows it too.
    One day I might be more organised...........:confused:

    Dusty - hope you are feeling ok today

    lil_me - glad it went well, bet you are glad to have that behind you!

    7ww - my ToDo list is on here! I am stuffed if the internet is down LOL and hubby thinks its an outrage that our todo list is in the public domain, As if anyone cares ?! Although I am thinking of getting/finding i the hosue somewhere a notebook for this kind of thing as I seem to have lists of lists and wont be omline so much once school starts and baby here.

    ELIZA_D - my DH is the same, dumps stuff everywhere. When I am busy tidying I just say "oh coiuld you out that whatever away in the study/whatever in case I put iot somewhere you cant find it" etc etc. Over the last few months I have managed to have it so that everything has "a home" but I still have to ask him to put it there. Very tedious.

    sexymouse - thats lovely that you are excited - thanks! And you have reminded me I must get together a list of people for DH to email. Tricky one re the Zizzi vs pub thing. What your highest priority ? Money or enjoying the time. Maybe doing both - pub when landlady not there and Zizzi the rest of the time is the way to compromise ? And of course you dont know yet if you will enjoy Zizzi, it might be awful. Also, the landlady might change her days at the pub and then you'll have made your decision on invalid info. Not helping but at least might help you when making your considerations.

    AnW's Mum - you are right, I will email friend now for bottles back ...... ok have emailed her :)

    lbnblbnb - am taking things a wee bit easier out of necessity not choice LOL. Energy levels have dropped massively, its very annoying! I too have a staionery fetish , cant wait for DD to love stationery so I can join in and buy it for[strike] me [/strike]her :rotfl:

    Shell - (((hugs))) how stressful and worrying. Like lil_me said, whats your HV like ? We have two, one very wishy washy who annoys me, and one who says "right, heres what to do. Do this:" and gives you concrete things to try. For me that is almost always enough to have something definite to do. Maybe it is just her way of dealing with stress and worry and upheaval. My DS has been a bit of a horror most of the holidays - very argumentative, defiant, shouting and screaming at me, lying etc. I'm sure he is worried about starting school and the baby coming and he can't deal with it any other way. Its still very hard dealing with him when he is ranting and screaming etc, can't imagine what is must be like if she is getting physical with it too. For him, talking about school has made it worse so I have just avoided the subject and not gone on about it. Some days he wants to go, some days he doesn't. I wish he didnt have to go, like Dusty's DD he is a homebody and would just rather be at home. Hope you manage to make it to the start of term and then maybe things will settle a bit.

    tracyg - poor you ((hugs)), your poor cousin, and her poor family. how awfulto go so young, and so fast, what a shock.

    pigpen - how did you get so much via quidco ? what stuff dd you have to sign up for/buy - thats fantastic

    right up to teatime posts, now going to read evening ones!

  • I feel so proud of you lot for what you achieve and how you all support each other. Just reading today i have realised that we all feel able to come on here and voice a concern or ask for help, and don't have to worry about ridicule and i think we all genuinely make each other feel good. So big hugs to you all. :beer:

    I am feeling a bit more organised now i have actually talked to someone in work. I think i had best work hard tomorrow when i am in there in the afternoon for a few hours, but i know where to find stuff, so my time should be very productive, and i know what i want to achieve. Hopefully Charlie should be less clingy but i am not guaranteeing it.

    So, not crossed anything off a list since yesterday, but things are moving in the right direction and i will probably have a sit down with the weeks list tomorrow and work out where i am and what else needs doing, but i won't be killing myself as i want to enjoy the rest of my time where i am only partly stressed with my baby.

    well have done nothing off the big list but I dont really care!

    Since my tea time post I have:
    - fed everyone dinner - cheese and veg enchiladas - yummy :p even kids liked it, have never done it for them before
    - tidied up from dinner
    - DW on
    - went out to market research thing (see below!)
    - washing in off line
    - DW emptied
    - cleaned out BM as bread rose too much and stuck to lid yuck

    I did go out to a Market Reseach thing and got £25 for it, also got £25 through the post yesterday for a mystery shopping assignment, so £50 for the maternity leave pot :D

    Also put my name forward for 2 mystery shop assignments at the weekend so that would be another £50 if I get accepted. Fingers crossed. At the minute the maternity leave fund runs out June next year but I really want to eke it out to end of August so that I don't need to sort out (and hence pay for) childcare over the sumer hols, plus I would like to be able to spend next summer off withe kids (remind me of that next summer when I am going mad with 3 of them at home for 6 weeks :eek:

    Tomorrow's list:
    - kids up and breakfasted
    - tidy kitchen
    - go out to softplay and stay for lunch :T
    - post letters
    - collect DS prescription
    - if time, go to bank and deposit my £50 :j
    - unload veg box - first delivery in months :D
    - decide on tea
    - cook tea
    - tidy up from tea
    - DW on
    - DW emptied
    - Asda online shop
    - MUST get bureau sorting started and start this flipping album, I reckon it wont take long once I start

    We'll see how I get on tomorrow then!

    Hello all. I've not been around for a while - life getting in the way and all that sort of stuff. Can't see me getting totally back on track until next week but in the meantime . . .

    Today's to do list:
    [strike]Walk Arsha;
    Empty out broken down fridge b'cause the new one is coming;[/strike]
    Try and find receipt for clothesline - it's broken, too, and not even a year old; Have searched, but can't find it.
    [strike]Hang all washing on clothes airer inside;[/strike]
    Shepherds pie for dinner;
    Help cousin clean old rental house before shifting to their new house; she ended up having to make an emergency trip away, so maybe tomorrow . .
    [strike]Ironing;
    Pick up of rubbish throughout the house;[/strike]
    [strike]Pick up, put away, sort, tidy in master bedroom;
    Put away bags from holiday last weekend;[/strike]
    Do a pooper scoop outside;
    Wait for email from accountant so I can set up invoicing for new company on Quick books.

    I seem to have so many "things to do" on hold because I'm waiting on someone else to do something first. It's very frustrating!

    Anyway - will try and get here more often again. It certainly give me a kick in the backside when I need it :)

    Morning all :hello: I've been wide awake since 4am so I gave up at 5.15am and came down. I've caught up on all my forums & email, read the news, and had brekkie so I think I might go and get washed/dressed soon and get on with some quiet jobs. Unfortunately I managed to disturb OH so he ended up getting up at 5.30 :o

    Didn't do much in the way of flying yesterday except dailies, but I did remember to go to the bank and order a new switch card after mine decided to split by the chip so you have to be REALLY careful how you use it - probably caused by the way some sale assistants have slammed it into the chip&PIN machines or tills :mad::mad:

    Today I plan on dailies, demoulding the bathroom again and erm...dusting :rotfl: Thats all I need to do as the house is otherwise clean. Ironing can wait until I've washed DD's school blouses ;)

    Right, off to check the weather for this postcode and then I'm off to get washed & dressed...or I might get another cup of coffee :think: Laters :wave:
