Does having £600 in the deposit protection scheme count as savings? hehe

We were unexpectedly violently evicted by the MIL last weekend so all this month's savings has gone on rent etc for a new place but I expect to see that £600 deposit back when we move out....shame I don't get the interest on it!

Finally updated after 2 months, £533 in April and £1,600 in May. However a rather large credit card bill will be paid in June so I am not expecting big numbers! Hopefully around the £500 mark!

    Hi

Number 65 checking in. Managed a grand total of £350 for May. Not as good as previous months but that's the price I pay for giving up a job that was driving me nuts!:)

Great numbers from everyone ! I'm reporting £2000 for May and really pleased with that as had a few weeks on reduced sick pay during May so managed to cut back and keep to target. Fortunately I was too ill to go out and spend money and it's easy to save when you are confined to bed and feeling like **** Thanks slowlyfading for your kind thoughts when I was ill, i'm not sure how to reply with the persons comments as so many of you do, maybe someone can send on instructions.

Some extra news, come back from working overseas and have a letter telling me I've finally paid off my student loan!

So to celebrate (and because i'm a saving geek) I've set up a new Santander 5% regular saver so the extra money is working as hard as possible straight away.

May update a bit late - just back from holiday!

A big one for me £808.56 :D That was mainly from some back pay that I wasn't really expecting, so an extra bonus!

I have also just finally paid off my big 10 year loan that has been hanging over my head. Paid off 18 months early! That makes me officially debt free (but no savings apart from this challenge...argh!)

Hi, I think I'm going to just not be part of this challenge, sorry. I haven't updated this year at all (though I did great last year!) and my income is all over the place, and I've no idea what I'm doing with savings etc. I am number 41 I think.

    Good luck to everyone though!

Your all doing so well I haven't updated the past few months as hardly had a minute to spare and. Some very expensive bills came sort of unexpectedly . Managed to save £1000 for May and now am back on track . I have 2 more payments on the bank loan and that should free up some cash each month and hooefully a family member is paying me back this month fingers crossed. I need to start tracking my spending now as a feel this is my down fall and I don't track things enough !
