My TSB Classic current account balance is much healther (nearer £2,000) so I should be back to usual next month.
I start a new Sharesave plan next month, much better option price than the last one (which I cancelled after a year). I'm planning on sticking to this plan, but will reduce my take home pay by about £222 a month.
Total figure for April:
£200 - HTB ISA (The actually figure is bit higher if I included my TSB classic account).
Solid month for May, £700 in total.
I did something I've never done before and withdrew dividend income from my S&S ISA (so that has boosted my current account balance by £307). That was made up of 4 dividends all paid in the end of May, [gotta love income paying stocks!].
Saved in May as below:
HTB - £200

Hi everyone, declaring £895.4 for this month. Seeing some good numbers on here, very motivational!
I'm not quite on track with my target, really need to get back to some hefty overtime soon but work has gone a bit quiet recently. Also that damn student loan is dragging me down somewhat - only four more payments to go and it's gone though...Save £12k in 2016: £11272.61 / £16000

#127 with a late report of £1000 saved for May!
I'm determined to save 1k per month for the rest of this year but I've had a very bad spendy may and now I have £80 to last until the end of June which is going to be fun...Saved so far - £28,890.97

Hi all,
#025 declaring £500 for April and £500 for May.
Apologies being late providing the updates.

Hurray a month in the right direction - saved £481.80 in May, taking me to -£232.65 for 2016, so all being well June will put me back in the black after a spendy few months. Finally get some overtime payment next week too (from Christmas!) so that will help! However I'm noticing a few things around the house that need fixing and replacing so it might not last... oh well, it's an investment.
Well done everyone, some great numbers going on!0 -
hi all, declaring savings of £2,262.85 for May, bringing my total for the year so far to £11,273.56.
June is likely to be a slightly different story as I have a couple of big bills, plus work has got my pay wrong this month  (long story) and so it will be a fair bit less next month. I plan to tighten the belt though so we'll see.0 -
I saved £23k in 2015, and I only work part time!
How did I do it? Well paid off mortgage many years ago, got two pensions coming in, plus part time work, and it's easy.
Should easily top it this year because sp kicks in in a few weeks.
Don't know why I'm saving now, it's jus habit.
So to those of you out there, keep at it, after thirty plus years of saving, you'll end up like me - a savings addict!
Good luck fj0 -

Declaring late due to a stressful month -- apologies.
Total of £447.39 saved, but £868.30 spent (new-to-me car + poorly cat) so a negative balance of -£420.91. June is a very spendy month due to car insurance so will make this up by July at the latest. Hopefully will catch up on savings later in the yearSPC - #483 [banked £134.15] - :staradmin :staradmin gold stars from Sue-UU!
