    So to those of you out there, keep at it, after thirty plus years of saving, you'll end up like me - a savings addict!

    haah sooooo true!
    the more you get / make the more you want...

    I do remember, before I started saving, I did not bother much.
    I lived my life to full extend, did not worry much ...

    but when I started, now every time me or my wife spends money;
    it sticks in my head ... could have saved sooo much , could have saved this much .. lol

    That's a sad attitude, imho.

    I save lots and I think I live life to the full. In fact, since I rejected mindless consumerism in my mid-20s, I think I've lived life more fully than I did before. It's all about prioritising spending on what I love.

    @TARA

    it is all how you see it :)
    you see things differently, we all do.

    Surely, still do what I like to do .. but not doing some silly stuff like I did before.
    Bottom line, before I DID NOT CARE ABOUT TOMORROW whereas nowadays I think about it wisely.

    Anyway, whatever floats your boat Tara

    Spreadsheet updated - phew! Sorry for the delay; life has been pretty crazy around here lately.

    There are some fantastic numbers that people are saving - well done everyone :D I wish I could say the same :o

    Now, if everyone could just donate me £5 for running the thread I'd be nearer to where I should be..... ;)

    *only slightly kidding :D *

    Just joking.... :rotfl:

    Ha ha ha, funny indeed. Working for Megacorp has some good perks if you're willing to stick to it for a while, and show good work ethic.

    Worked for me - I have been/am lucky and feel blessed. Trust me it has not always been that way - when I started working 10 years ago, my base salary was exactly on average national salary.

    I could work for a megacorp like HP but then my perk would be the option of voluntary redundancy every 6 months

    Fantastic work as always everyone. All doing so well!

    I don't think I declared last month, so declaring two months in one go; total for the year now stands at 47.59% after 5 months. Very happy with that and puts me ahead of my target.

    5-week month to survive now.
