  • I would like to declare £977.65 for May bringing my total to £7452.72 for the year. June should be much better as I am about to embark on a selling spree! Hoping to clear at least £200 from my junk :)

Everyone is doing so well and I cannot thank SF enough for managing this.

    Form and signature updated.

As always thank you everyone for motivating me and keeping me on the straight and narrow!

The way I calculate this is to deduct what I had as final balance before I last got paid from what I have just before this months wage goes in. Only do it this way as I now have every penny I have in a Santander account to get the most interest.

Bring on when I get back over £20,000 savings (I bought a flat at the end of 2014 so putting every penny back into savings to build it up again:j) and have to look for other places to put savings lol.

I am declaring £427 for May, lower than I wanted but spent an unexpected £175 this month on a hotel for later in the year.

    157 declaring for May.

£850 this month. Would have been £900 but taking £50 out now for a holiday trip in June, in order to save similar next month.

    Bringing my total to £7,050.

#72 here reporting for May - £403.70 saved for the month. That takes me to £2441.43 for the year to date which means I have fallen behind target for the first time this year

S'pose it's better than I had feared for the month, but am on holiday in June so unlikely to be able to make much headway then :(

#116 reporting in; £909 for May, bringing my total for the year so far to £5332. I'm hoping to hit my £6k target next month.

I have bought a house this month, so frantically saving every penny, hoping to be in over the summer, then my savings ill probably drop dramatically.

I'm not sure what's happening with some of my money so will be keeping track of expenditures from June

  • A new low for this year of £297 this month due to having to shell out for a new back garden fence.

June should be a positive one and I've got the main holiday of the year (a week in sunny Devon) out the way without dipping into the savings so not too bad really.

My usual £500 for this month (£200 HTB, 300 RS). Had a few outgoings this month (MOT, weekend away).

Am hoping for more next month but have another trip away so may not go up until July but I'm still really pleased with myself. I've never had savings before and I love updating my spreadsheet every month and seeing the numbers go up!

Thanks to all for this thread, it's very motivational! I wish I'd found it years ago!

    Hi everyone

My spreadsheet for May shows just 2 unexpected expenses; 1 was a car hire bill when we were abroad in April (finally worked its way through onto my credit card statement) and tickets to a play that no.2 son was appearing in. But everything else ticking over nicely, so declaring £2510.35 for May.
(3 years 4 months to go to financial independence)

    Happy saving everyone.
