It is now possible on my account to enter gas and electric readings.
I`ll wait until the end of the month.

No sign of meter readings on mine yet.
Just out of interest, were you able to see Avro's closing reads?

No nothing from Avro or any other readings.
But you could back date the readings any day to the 15th October.

Ok. I can enter meter readings from the menu. I only looked at the dashboard before.

  • Just remember that what you're seeing is intended for "normal" customers transferring in to Octopus to submit their first meter readings.
In our case as ex-Avro customers the meter reading submitting bit may not work until the opening/first meter readings have been uploaded into the Octopus system from the Avro system.

I'll try to enter meter readings on the same date as for Avro and see what happens then. If it takes, it takes but I'm not bothered if I need to enter fresh readings later on.

  • Any advise please, we have an economy  meter but have never had an economy 7 tarrif for the last 8 years I've lived here. We were with avro (had only swapped over in early September I think) and were on a standard fixed tarrif. Had the email today from octopus and we have been put on an economy 7 tarrif (even though we were on a standard with avro) prices are not too bad really but don't really have any way of taking advantage of the reduced night time u it's price.

I dont have a clue what the standard tarrif from octopus would be as they have now removed the ability to check prices, do people think I'll be able to be swapped onto a standard tarrif without having to sign upto the ridiculas new prices?

I have an account in the same position. Emailed Octopus on Friday asking them to change it to their standard prices on the same tariff. Haven't had a reply yet, but hope they'll sort it out.

By default your tariff will follow the meter type, but Octopus are happy to have you on a single rate tariff with an E7 meter, just tell them that is what you want.
  • Cheers for the help, might try and email first thing tomorrow and see what they say. Would be interested in what the actual difference would be in price.
