The situation is less rosy for customers who were mid switch to Avro at the time of their collapse. I have still not heard a thing from Octopus and I have no idea when my old supplier will get opening readings.

It is just going to take a while, but they did say this a week ago, so if you have not done as asked then now would be a good time...

"If you think you are an Avro customer, and haven't heard from us at all yet, please email us on avro@octopus.energy and we will investigate."

I have been impressed the way OctopusEnergy have handled things so far. I was able to log into their website which showed an account number and most of my details. I have been able to set up my direct debit and choose an amount and date it is paid. I had cancelled the Avro one. I have set it to £100 as I have £250 credit with Avro and we have been kept updated daily
I'm in a similar situation but, although I am able to log in to the new account, I am not able to set anything up because they say they don't yet have my address. So I'm just waiting for them to import data from Avro.

Nobody wanted Avro to go under but if Octopus does as it says above then we`ve got off lightly compared to some of the horror stories we`ve seen when a supplier goes bust.
Can`t see there`s anywhere to go for the next six months and probably long after that.
On the face of it Octopus seems to be getting on with it.

All through this energy crisis I`ve never once heard anything in the media about north sea gas.
    Have they gone bust too?

When you set up a DD can you name the amount and date during the process?
I`ve logged in and it and they want name, account number and sort code and then it says submit.
If I press submit, does it then let me name the amount and date taken?

It didn't in my case. I would be interested to know how millie set the DD amount and date too.

From memory I think it was all on the same screen but cant be sure as it is a few days ago. I set the date and amount. I was paying Avro £74 per month so hopefully £100 should be enough.

Once your Octopus account is set up, there's a "change my payments" option.

OK. Thanks. I don't get that option so looks as though the account is not fully set up yet.

    Same here.

My personal details may be correct, but until I can see my address alongside them as well, I am setting up nothing.

Thanks everybody but I think I`ll hang fire for now with the DD.
I want to know how much and when.

It seems odd that there are different strokes for different folks here. I suspect it might be a browser setting making a difference. I tend to keep my Firefox browser locked down as tight as possible so may have overdone it for the Octopus site. I can wait.
