As mentioned in an earlier post, they refer to the charges for our prospective tariff as "currently" £10 under the cap. So it's not clear to me whether another £10 pa could be on the cards. Others seem to think not.
. . . As far as I am aware they only need to keep the rate below or at the cap, not fix it for 6 months. . .
The salient point for me is that they have not yet declared the tariff charges so even if Ofgem makes them fix their charges for 6 months as SoLR, the level at which it is "fixed" is, as yet, not determined.

Ofgem requires a SoLR to offer a tariff that won't change for 6 months (to the end of April). The flavour of Flexible Octopus that you get offered will be £10 under the current cap, but the cap is due to be revised in 5 months (at the start of April). This is why they say "currently".

Since the tariff rates have not been announced, what base amount is to be used to measure any increase.
You may well be correct but I won't be convinced until I am told by Octopus what the tariff rates are.
Why have they been resolute in not revealing the actual rates to be associated with our prospective tariff?
    Edit
Fortunately, a £10 pa increase from the assumed Oct v2 will not be too significant but one is starting to get the feeling Octopus is just wiley as Avro were.

  • MSE seem to know which tariff we shall be going on.

It is the one that most forum users have expected/predicted it to be.

Apparently, the tariff Avro customers are moving to is exclusive to them, so the test, I suppose, would be whether a non-Avro customer could sign up to this tariff.

I think most of us are aware of the tariff rates which are being assumed. The question, for some of us, is which rates we will actually be paying and why hasn't Octopus disclosed them to former Avro customers yet. We will be advised when the first statements are produced but it would be nice to know about them now.

Expect a whopping increase in price if on Flexible Octopus next April which applies to most of us. Prices might be more than double what we were paying Avro.

Before their collapse, I would submit my meter readings to Avro on 7th.

Is there any point, or will those of us recently switched, have 26th as their billing date?

If you don’t have a smart meter, you can submit meter readings at anytime on the App or online and Kraken will generate a statement based on that reading. Those of us with smart meters get a statement once a month.
