Problem is - who wants us?. If the capped tariff is, currently, unprofitable - who wants us?

Anyanka1 said:. . . The cheapest fix will, inevitably, be what..? 50% per cent more at the very least? Is it still worth fixing for a year? I really don't know at the moment. It is a horrible thing to have to admit but... Should'a stayed with e.on, however much their CS also sucks; at least, they answer the phone sometimes. Many of us may be a bit shell-shocked at the moment. We can't do anything about it so we might as well sit back and wait for the SoLR to get in touch. In the long run, the energy market will stabilise and we'll mount our horses again ready to charge in.It's a blip - don't let it get you down.

I so hope you are right, Consumerist, but I have just had a stark reminder of what customer service should be like from, of all companies, PayPal! How remote are they?
Some random, probably American, firm who exist only on the internet yet, when you google "paypal help", the first thing they recommend is calling them and I got straight through to a professional, helpful, patient, friendly person who resolved my problem. I can't remember the last time an energy company did that.0 -
Sure this has been answered in the multitude of Avro threads we're currently experiencing but I can't find it and I'm not starting a new thread so this thread seems the best place to pose the question,
For those who have gone through SOLR process before, how long does it normally take for the new account to be up and running and more importantly when is a payment requested. I'm happy to not pay a bill for anything between 2-6 months and I will definitely put the money to one side without issue but what timescale might we be looking at here?0 -

Yup. Good advice above. I think i may have dodged it by getting out Monday and getting confirmation of start date from Sainburys. If i was still in i'd probably cancel DD and make sure i was keeping at least the monthly amount tucked away ready for use down the line. Situations and amounts required will obviously differ depending on how much credit balance you have there, if at all. My Father-in-law has £400 i think so on his usage he's ok for 3/4 months0

Two and a half months. There are a lot more customers to sort out at the moment so I wouldn't be at all surprised if it took longer.I continued making DD payments to GNE and submitting monthly meter readings until their website went off-line; EDF redirected my DD to them in April and it's still in place today (my switch to Octopus completes next week)..N. The longer the SoLR takes the better. At the moment, we're still being charged based on our Avro tariff.0
