DerwentMailman said:I've tried to get in contact with Avro (via Twitter) this morning re COT (change of tenancy) but they appear to be mute with no response yet. Email re COT was sent to them on the day of moving 16 working days ago and no response either other than the generic response. Hoping this is not a bad sign. Unless something happens today I shall be stopping my DD that is still active and assume that my final bill refund (circa £175) will eventually make its way back to me at some point. I just know that Avro will take another payment unless I stop them dead in their tracks via my bank.
BUT as usual Avro will need prodding once the deadlines come and go. In my case they are stating that the credit amount on my now closed account will only be refunded in 3 weeks from today.
They also state
If you are due to have a payment taken in the next few days, please monitor your online account and reply to this email once this has cleared to ensure this can be refunded to you without delay.
Hmm I could see whether the next payment attempts to go through the DD system and stop it at DD day -1 (because I see future DD's about to be taken). What I don't want is for Avro to owe me more than the last statement. I see some have stated that Avro (and other energy companies) will pay direct to your bank details irrespective of whether the DD mandate has been stopped.0 -

Do I detect a hint of normal service being resumed at Avro?

Hmmmm!! Was gonna sit tight till end of January but that video has me thinking which is always a bad sign!!
Doing some rough number crunching i reckon i'll be about level with Avro by end of January as i've a very small credit balance there and a fairly recent increased d/d. I've based this on last years usage and unless weather is extreme i would expect it to stay the same, maybe even go down slighlty as kids HOPEFULLY will be at schoo/Uni.
Quandaries!! Quandaries!! Do i take the hit of £30 per month plus with Sainsburys/Eon now or not??. Like a lot of people i'm sure, it's not this this cap that's bugging me now but the one next April!!!
ps- i'm assuming the above 2 deals are stil there at type of writing!!0 -
I had the same issue as well but all ok now ….. 🤞🤞Still can’t decide whether or not to jump ship to Eon or hang on 🤬🤬0

They were an hour or so ago when I checked. My quote has gone up by £1 per month since this morning!ps- i'm assuming the above 2 deals are stil there at type of writing!!1 -
Sod it!! I've jumped. Onto Sainsburys 2 year! Wish i hadn't seen that video that reminded me of the cap next year.
Que sera sera!
Hopefully forget about it now unless they go belly up and then we're all in for a bit of ''fun.''0 -
Jumping from Avro to Eon/Sainsburys is tempting. The concern is how long it would take to get back a refund from Avro if they went under.1
