I had the same experience when Tonik went bust. This was preceded by a lot of negative feedback re CS on MSE forum. Probably as good an indication as any that things are getting wobbly and it might be time to leave. The trick is to find a supplier, large or small, with competitive not necessarily the very cheapest tariffs and conditions, combined with positive CS reports as an indication that their house is in order.  Not easy.

  • "No one should have to use TwitFace to contact a company.
They should have their own customer service up and running."

Exactly, I don't even know if they have a presence there. No mention in their contact section.
Live chat is not available and the only option looks to be e-mail.

  • Avro have always been pretty slow but appear to be asleep.

27th March I emailed requesting my credit balance be refunded.
12th April Henry from Avro replies with a lot of yada yada and agrees to refund ¾ of it.
    Still waiting.

7th April my daughter emailed requesting a refund.
Still waiting also, not even a reply.

From my recent experience and posts here, it looks like Avro may have bitten off more than they can chew in terms of number of customer accounts.  *creak*

I ended up going with Octopus when Avro failed to respond.  Best to go onto the comparison sites and see what best fits your usage at this time

I switched to Octopus a year ago and one month ago switched to their Tracker tariff that does not feature on any comparison site (together with the "time of use" tariffs).  Early days yet but the results seem to compare favourably with the best fixed rate tariffs (excluding Symbio that comes with a government health warning). Separate Octopus MSE thread.

That could be said of most recent entrants into the energy market - and definitely when a recruitment stop was put on AVRO by Ofgem.

Two years later, they're still with us.

Avro was stopped by Ofgem in May 2019 from taking on new customers because they did not support smart meters.
This was resolved and the ban was lifted after less than a month.

Avro began trading in 2015 and it`s still going strong with consistant lower prices.
