Like Katy, I got my renewal pack within 5 or 10 minutes, and it states the proper date.
I'll take a meter reading when my dd has gone out on Monday. They are underestimating my bill despite a previous elec reading so if they do put me on the tariff early, regardless of me fighting with them, I don't want the catchup to be at the new higher rates.

For people who are convinced they will switch away, it's probably best not to renew because IIRC of you switch just before the end of the current low tariff, they have to keep you on that tariff while you're switching.

I don't think a collective switch is due until March though and prices are heading up, so I thought it best to hedge my bets with a new fix.
  • Avro have now resolved the early switch renewal this morning  :)
  • Has anyone had any success changing to a cheaper tariff that was not available after logging onto their account. My Simple and Superflow is due to end very soon. The Simple Usupersavyy12m  is more than a £116 increase ( via citizens advice site ) yet when i log onto Avro  the only option I get is Simple and Superpremier which is a £ 240 increase
I emailed Avro several days ago  and have had no reply. When calling them I was told it was for emergencies only

The statement clearly shows that the change was effected on the day I renewed, and not the end of the current tariff, as requested!

    No ambiguity there.

@AngelicKaty - No Renewal Pack received yet either.
I think one of the most baffling things about dealing with Avro is how variable their service is.  So, @gwapenut and I get our renewal packs and they seem to be correct with the renewal date being when our current contract expires, whereas you don't get a renewal pack at all and you get switched immediately!  (I seem to recall similar conversations about this variability this time last year, but you sort of hope these system quirks would be eliminated over time.)  Were Avro able to explain what went wrong with your renewal process?

Avro needs to be asked why existing customers are only being offered the choice of one tariff for renewing, when there are twelve "currently available" on their website.

Of course nobody has to stay with them if there are better deals around elsewhere.

Sites that don`t list Avro are obviously not getting a backhander from them, including MSE.
I did email them to this effect yesterday - I'll post here again when I get a reply. :)

I've previously switched from the Avro tariff I was already on to a cheaper one they subsequently introduced, but that was mid-term; I've never done this at renewal.  However, I emailed Avro yesterday to ask why they're only offering me Simple and SuperPremium for renewal, when the CA comparison website indicates that Simple and MSuperSavvy12M and Simple and USuperSavvy12M (both currently available on Avro's website) would be cheaper for me.  I'll post here again when I get a reply.

It is likely that Usupersavyy12m tariff is/was only available via uSwitch.

Although their licence conditions require them to keep you on your current tariff until the switch completes, a number of posts on here have indicated that Avro ignores this requirement. So you may have to make a complaint to be reimbursed for any extra you are made to pay.

They did that to me when I left them, and refused to reimburse the extra they had charged me as the switch took longer than it should. They said "I believe you are interpreting these licence conditions slightly differently than we are" when I complained and still refused to reimburse me. It was only a few pounds and I had other problems to sort out with the switch, so didn't push it any further.
I was an ex-customer by then.

I emailed Avro last night about my bill using estimated readings and they replied this morning to say that they had re-issues my statement to use the correct readings
