  • That is the $100 K question to which I suspect there isn't an answer.
Talking sites is anyone else having the same difficulty as I am in getting Money Supermarket to work?  The scrolling function seems to have been disabled. It is conceivable that they might list Avro but I can't tell.

  • Let me know what you conclude. My gut instinct is to stick with something good as long as it's available rather than speculate on what might or might not happen later.

Yes I know about CAB, what I should have asked is what site lists Avro that can actually do the switch.
Have you tried setting your current supplier as anyone other than Avro?

Obviously Avro is not paying any of them so they don`t list Avro.
Before Avro updated it`s site you had a choice of tariffs and could even fix your switch date up to 45 days ahead as long as you were still in contract on that date.

I`ve searched energyhelpline, uswitch and MSE but none of these list Avro.
    What site actually lists Avro?
Uswitch shows Simple and SuperPremier, provided that you click the misleadingly named 'Filter' icon to show the whole market. Also shown by 'Which? Switch' but neither allows you to initiate a switch.

Me too. The Premium tariff will cost me an extra £8 pm until the end of my current contract in April. In the greater scheme of things £20 or so is not a problem but I don't like switching in mid-Winter.

I tried MSM yesterday but the site refused to let me select the all-of-market option - even though the option was there.
    Edit
Just tried again today and still unable to select a whole-of-market comparison. It could be a browser (Firefox) thing.

  • I know I have been fortunate to grab the Simple and SuperPremium tariff when I set a switch in motion from Scottish Power on the 13th January (with completion set for February 3rd).  As with other posters,  I now no longer see this either on their website or on price comparison sites having been replaced with SuperPremier which is about £4 pcm more expensive for my usage.  Whoever thought of these tariff names is seriously short of any imagination unless it is a deliberate policy to confuse the consumer.  I am glad however that there are no exit fees so I can, if necessary, look at where the land lies in 6 months time.

As to my experiences with AVRO so far,  I received their welcome pack within 24 hours of applying and, so far, no hiccups in the switch process.  I liked the fact that they listed my MPAN/MPRN details for me to check and the tariff rates were the correct ones for the SuperPremium tariff I had signed up for.  I was able to access my account within 24 hours without issue.  So far so good but I shall reserve final judgement to see how the meter submission/billing process pans out.
  • I have no doubt that that is the acid test. Trustnet & co are full of 5* reports on companies based on ease on switching only, interspaced with a few others who merit only 1 - 2*'s based in experience in use (and on termination).  It would be interesting to hear how things "pan out"....

No sign of Avro from what I could tell on MSM. But then the latter failed to list the latest Octopus fixed tariff(s). It really does seem that you have to try a variety of sites to find out what is really the best deal.
