Telegraph_Sam said:I have no doubt that that is the acid test. Trustnet & co are full of 5* reports on companies based on ease on switching only, interspaced with a few others who merit only 1 - 2*'s based in experience in use (and on termination). It would be interesting to hear how things "pan out"....0

Before Avro updated it`s site you had a choice of tariffs and could even fix your switch date up to 45 days ahead as long as you were still in contract on that date.0 -
Having read people’s thoughts on here I decided to take a leap of faith with Avro. I was offered SimpleandSuperPremier on renewal or...well nothing else!!! Even though they have zillions of different tariffs listed(I wonder how many of these really exist?).
There seemed no way to choose a different tariff on comparison sites so here we are. A little more expensive but I also expect prices to rise so I suggest anyone indecisive should go for it. No exit fees so win/win I think.0 -
Interestingly I notice on Cheap Energy Club that SimpleandSuperPremier(God that’s a mouthful) is not listed0

No sign of Avro from what I could tell on MSM. But then the latter failed to list the latest Octopus fixed tariff(s). It really does seem that you have to try a variety of sites to find out what is really the best deal.

I have just made what I consider to be a mistake by hitting the renew button following the link on the 'invitation to renew' email. I was hoping to CHOOSE the tariff I actually wanted after looking at what was available on Avro's tariffs. The one I wanted is/was 'Simple and USavvy 12M which is showing as available only to find out the 'renew' button just instantly renewed me on 'Simple and SuperPremier?.
This feels wrong to me not giving me the choice when it distinctly shows as available (unless it's an area thing?), I'll accept it's my fault but I'm not accepting going from paying £94 a month to £147 a month, no way. Would I be right in thinking it won't really matter renewing now and me paying the extra because in principle it will help towards my final bill, think I'm around £63 in debit so extra payment should reduce that (well in theory at least I hope) AND also am I still ok to initiate a switch anytime even though I've just renewed? Avro not looking competitive for me anymore so they've gotta go.0 -

Contact Avro ASAP, I would suggest you do it in writing.I think Avro sets higher DDs in Winter months than in Summer. It's the estimated annual cost which will determine whether the tariff is cheapest for you.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

Is there not a 14 (??) day cooling off period which would allow you to un-renew if that is what you want?Telegraph Sam

Thanks, I've just emailed them asking to cancel. Like I said I'm not overly concerned as I'm in debit at the moment anyway so I guess I'll end up with a slightly smaller final bill paying the extra, bit sneaky of them though the instant auto-renew button imo.0
