Don't beat yourself too much - we're all going to pay (dearly) for COVID-19 in the long run.AngelicKaty said:Yes, this is the first year for a long time when I haven't felt I could pat myself on the back for getting a cracking deal. :'(

The same. I might just take the Avro SuperPremier tarrif and hope for a cheaper collective switch sometime before March. I think the latest email from Martin Lewis mentions that energy prices could rise in March.AngelicKaty said:Yes, this is the first year for a long time when I haven't felt I could pat myself on the back for getting a cracking deal. :'(0 -
Does anyone know if Avro are good company to haggle with regarding tarrifs?0

You might have to be a bit sneaky to get a showing for Avro. I set my current supplier as BG on standard variable as my current tariff to try to avoid the block for Avro's current customers.Telegraph_Sam said:Re regional differences: No sign of Avro in the uSwitch rankings for the North East.

Wow, I feel bad now. I've emailed Avro today to complain about the increase from my current £83pm (Simple and SuperFixed) to £96pm (Simple and SuperPremium) from 20th Feb.MidlandsGlory said:
Yes per month currently £130 per month, quote was £234, but Avro tend to pitch high with their monthly instalments then I have to email and say look, I am building too much credit and they slash it. The SuperPremier rates are substantially more expensive than Superfixed though.Consumerist said:
Are you sure that's £100 per month more?MidlandsGlory said:I am on original Simple and SuperFixed for a bit longer, ran the quotes and only offered Simple and SuperPremier at a £100 a month more, due to far higher rates.
MidlandsGlory, are all of the 10 bedrooms in your luxury mansion en-suite?

I don't quite follow that. I declared my current supplier (honestly) as Octopus.Consumerist said:

What shows for me on the Citizens Advice site is:
Simple and USuperSavvy 12M the same as .. MSuperSavvy @ £656 (representative quote)
Simple and USuperflow 12 M the same as ...USuperflow @ £663
Simple and USuperSelect the same as ... MSuperSelect @ £677
Simple and SuperPremier @ £679
However if I take the "next steps" all I get offered is the SuperPremier.
It might be a bit of an illusion that you can get a better deal by going via a comparison site.Telegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -
Not entirely sure what you mean wrt haggling regarding tariffs, but from my experience last year (the second year I'd been with Avro) they set my DD in February too high (as they always do at contract commencement!) and I started to work up a bit of a credit immediately (because, of course, you're also paying a month in advance with Avro). I started the contract year asking them to reduce the DD (which they did by £3pm) but by May I had still built up more than 1 month's credit on the account so I asked them to reimburse this amount, which they agreed to do 5 days later. I never bother trying to phone them (life's too short!) but they do seem to reply to emails within their stated response time - or maybe I've just been lucky - and have responded reasonably to my requests (again, maybe I've just been lucky!)pearl123 said:Does anyone know if Avro are good company to haggle with regarding tarrifs?1 -
It's only Avro's existing customers who might need to avoid any blocking of Avro tariffs.Telegraph_Sam said:

Two days ago, my quote was £2.00 cheaper per month via the Avro site. Avro have updated the tarrif they had on offer to a more expensive one, so i was hoping to see if they could offer the previous cheaper one.AngelicKaty said:
