Been with them since October 2017 and statements have always been viewable and downloadable with a .pdf extension.AngelicKaty said:At the risk of causing dissent here, I've been with Avro since February 2018 and my statements have always been viewable in my account and when I download them every month, they automatically have the .pdf extension.

Very true. They also appeared not to progressed beyond the cover page of "The dummy's guide to writing usable websites"How ‘usable’ does an energy companies website need to be though?;...Avro’s site is neatly laid out and does exactly what’s required of it as far as I’m concerned. It is ‘basic’ but it’s also simple, unambiguous and easy to navigate. Perfect for the masses. I’d sooner Avro concentrated on keeping their prices low rather than unnecessarily spending heaps on a super-showy all singing all dancing website;...when all said and done, they only sell one product.

Oh, they are pdfs - but not identified as a pdf. Windows 7 always asks me to select the application that will be used to open the unknown file.Quite understandable as the downloaded file ID is MonthlyStatement and not MonthlyStatement.pdfOr, even better, 20200908 Avro.pdf

Completely agree with you - it may not be the most aesthetically pleasing website, but it does just what you need it to. Of course, my benchmark is the Co-op's energy website back in 2015, which was so "Noddy" it could have been created by Enid Blyton!Biggus_Dickus said:polymaff said:True. That's weird - my (very old) Vista PC and my newer Win 10 PC both recognise the files as Acrobat pdfspolymaff said:Oh, they are pdfs - but not identified as a pdf. Here's what W7 thinks of a download called MonthlyStatement - any thoughts?

After you've clicked on Adobe Acrobat Reader, are you given the option to "Aways open with this application"? If not, my thought would be to update your operating system to Windows 10.polymaff said:Here's what W7 thinks of a download called MonthlyStatement - any thoughts? 0 0

Yes, but that would mean that all files without a file type would be opened by the same app - which would be an even bigger nuisance.Avro is not alone in failing to meet this fundamental discipline of giving files a type.
