  • That's he number I called. As I said before I've been offered a modification. I may call again to push for a replacement

    I've heard they are starting to charge people for repair. Can they do this?

    Where did you hear this?
  • Just had Hotpoint on the phone after registering my faulty dryer 8 weeks ago & chasing them up myself as no reply apart from bog standard 5 week waiting before we contact you email.
    They have advised they are ordering the part & the engineer will contact me before he comes to fit it approx. May or June ..............
    So I have an at risk of fire dryer which is ok to be fixed in 6 months time !!!!
    Called Currys knowhow as dryer still under warranty to be told as it is a manuacturers recall it over rides their warranty so they cant help me either
    So who pays the bill if any of these dryers do catch fire ????

    As the issue has now been identified it would be the customers fault if a fire broke out after they had continued to use it after the warning and instructions for continuing use not followed.

    Workmate called yesterday and was told they aren't giving replacements, only repairs.. on the day my new one arrived
