I registered mine on 26th November then received an email yesterday saying the estimated engineer visit is "January" - I'm not holding my breath! Or i can purchase a replacement for £99.00 I've read that some people have been able to get a replacement for free - If you are one of these people, what's the best way to go about getting one FOC??0

I opted to have a new tumble dryer as my Indesit was 7 years old and the earliest date for repair was March, I paid £59 for a new Hotpoint dryer which was delivered at 4.15pm yesterday. It looks great but I will test it for the first time today as its raining cats and dogs!
However was not impressed to be called at 8.55am today asking if we would like to take out the extended warranty! Can't have much faith in their machines!0 -
I finally managed after 2 days to speak to someone about the offer of a replacement model for £99 but which would be too deep.
Managed to negotiate an alternative of the right depth free of charge and its coming on Tuesday.
I have the same problem. Do you mind if I ask which model they supplied, and can I borrow your negotiating skills, please.
Off topic, I think I 'know' you from cruisecritic, and enjoy your posts on there:D0 -
I received a call this morning from Hotpoint with an update. They advised that they would have a solution for me by May!!. I was not offered the choice of a replacement or new machine for a reduced price just that an engineer would be sent out. My drier will be 10 years old by May so find it frustrating that i was not offered a replacement machine considering the age of my drier. They also said that their exchange stocks had been used up so there were no new machines available for replacement. So much for treating all their customers the same! :rolleyes:0

They appeared to have replacement dryers in stock a couple of days ago, when they emailed offering me one for £99.
Surely they're not making it up as they go along:rotfl:0 -
I rang the hotpoint service number listed on their website at the start of the week and have a service visit on Monday booked. The lady on the phone did say their dept dealing with this had been offering newer machines and if I waited I might be offered that but our machine is only a few months old with light use so told her we would just like the repair. They are texting with an ETA for Monday tomorrow night.0

My replacement tumble dryer was delivered on Monday. I filled in the form online on 25 November and got a phone call on 14 December to say I was getting a replacement. Sorry, I have no idea what model my original tumble dryer was!
I've found the original receipt, its for a Hotpoint VTD00P and I bought it from Currys on 8 August 2007 for £159.950 -

Could you please give me the telephone number you rang. I too have the same problem with the replacement being too deep. Held on phone for nearly an hour for someone to answer and gave up.0 -
Got an email yesterday saying the "repair" will be sometime in Feb.0
