Really overwhelmed with all your lovely kind messages! Thank you all :) hope you all had lovely Christmases you lovely people :)
Elsa doll was a total hit and she sings beautifully with it. It's been a bit of a boozy Christmas for me. Snowballs all over the place and back and for-ing for both sets of parents. Finally home!
Plus managed to get hubby's games he wanted for £17 and £27 instead of £42 each so very happy with that!
Not even looked at my accounts or thought about money.
Got very spoilt. I find receiving presents hard as I just see it all as wasted money. I know people love me and want me to be happy but it all gets warped when you're so poor. I just want the food anyway lol.
Will crack back on soon x

Am pleased to hear you had a nice Christmas and that singing Elsa went down well - DD loved her Elsa too and had gone to see Nanny in her Elsa dress.

Well done on the bargain games - I think it's better to get presents that people actually want rather than spending for the sake of it, but even better if you can get a good deal.

Hello! Have subscribed to cheer you on your way.

Its hard wanting to make faster progress than you actually can..have been there too. But the main thing is you are taking control of the situation and not letting it get worse. Thats really powerful.

Heres to a great 2016 (with lots of snowballs ;) )

Hello! Thank you Just feel a bit stupid as I joined this site to keep me on task. It is so hard keeping going when I'm making no progress. At the start it felt really good, I was clearing all my clutter, bringing in extra income, there was always something new to do to make more money. Now I've dried up all my avenues and it's just coming down to cutting back when there isn't anything left to cut back on. Plus now I've sold all my belongings OHs are sticking out like a sore thumb and really bothering me. Mainly the 3 unplayed guitars, the massive amp and the broken hifi with speakers.
I want to be able to chronicle some kind of success on here not just bore you all with my jibbering.
I've made a very juvenile decision to cry to the bank of mum & dad for a loan as I can't get credit. Cancel that credit card (which will feel amazing after 4 years and 3 attempts to close the !!!!!!, I won't say yes to the £100 this time). And hand over my remaining credit cards to my mum and reduce my overdraft to £100 to protect me from fees. If I can't use them I can't use them. It's just so overwhelming when there's always something one of the girls needs. I think this will demonstrate to them that I am serious. (My dad wants me to learn to solve my problems independently which I totally appreciate). They have been impressed with me on all my debt busting so far. Just wish the banks liked my debt busting rather than refusing me credit lol.
So there we go, a woe is me post, totally by accident... It was supposed to be a determined sounding post lol. I think it's because the OH going away for 6 months soon. It's making me sad... And a bit worried about taking on all the finances. It's a new challenge. Taking on two lots of debt and being on my own with the girls. I can do it. I just want to make him proud of me. X

There is no need to feel stupid and I think that everyone's debt busting slows down, eventually. If you can't make any inroads in reducing your debt, use the time productively to do something else e.g. changing habits or learning new debt busting skills.

I've come to the conclusion that whilst the children are young e.g. when you are on maternity leave, or having to pay for expensive nursery fees, then it may not be possible to reduce debts, but time could still be used productively.

My OH sometimes goes away for weeks at a time...always hard. I remember one time when DD2 was about 8 weeks old, vividly. Waking to feed in the night..felt very lonely. I have got used to it (but clearly 6 months is like a lifetime..am not suggesting my experience is as bad) and easier as kids get bigger. You're doing great, it's always hard anticipating the separation. Don't beat yourself up.

Maybe he could let you sell the broken items..or get them mended and then sell?

And well done on approaching your family. Am sure they are proud of you. Not always easy to admit mistakes but great lesson to pass onto your kids..we all make mistakes, its how we learn from them and react to them that matters more

Thank you for being so lovely in response to my miserable post :) I've never done 6 months solid before either. It's going to be weird. And he's going to miss dd2s 1st birthday.
My friends have a booked a holiday for me and the girls to go with them! So kind and sweet of them. It's literally the week after my first week back at work. My boss won't even acknowledge my text about having the two days off and I can't really blame him. But even if I just get the two days I am so excited! It's a centreparcs at longleat. I have no idea what you do - my friend said its posh butlins and we get to book activities. Plus been wanting to go to longleat with the girls. Should be a laugh as aurora will most likely sleep in the car and dd2 will scream all the way round. Even if they just see one animal it'll be worth it. Maybe just go to the house at the end and stroke a Guinea pig.
Hubby has been saying for a very long time that we should go on holiday when he gets back. Have some time just us with lots of fun so the girls can reconnect with him. I haven't seen how it could be possible but I've seen that eurocamps and the toddler destinations look great and cheap. More research necessary I think. So maybe 2016 has the potential to be a very fun year... Rather than just scary changes! And fingers crossed we will have halved the debt overall come July! X

Desperately need to clean the house (impossible)
Need to sort out all dd2s outgrown clothes to sell
Need to have a chat with my parents
There are things I can do :) and that need doing. On the downside there is no food in my house. But there is nappies!
Hope everyone has a lovely New Years and has all their resolutions ready x
