Well done for staying strong and not giving in to Barclaycards attempts to keep you spending with them. Fab news about money in your paypal account too, what a bonus!

I did chuckle about your little ones suddenly loving something you were about to get rid of, I can think of many a time myself and my sister did that too :o

Thank you SU for your ideas about cleaning but I struggle to even get mine done. My children are so clingy. I love it but it makes everything impossible! Dd2 still won't sleep without being held. Plus I get scared of losing my maternity pay and tax implications. I'm hoping to get a flexible, more local job when I go back to work... A girl can dream. Just never get jobs :( I don't know why I am so unemployable and this was before I had kids! So now I really am on the slag heap lol
Need to somehow sort out sales but everything seems pointless when hubby is leaving on Monday. Will sort it out after.
Hope you're all doing well x

Try not to worry too much Kitten, the important thing at the moment is that you are spending time with and enjoying your girls. That's a job in itself. The fact you are managing to reduce your debt on SMP and being a full time Mom is fab, don't beat yourself up!

Getting peeved at how negative I sound. Some posts I am genuinely upset but most of them I'm not but it sounds like I am. Don't know how to change my tone for the written word to sound more upbeat. I sound like a depressive but I am actually really happy. I think it's because I'm quite dry and sarcastic regardless so please don't all think I'm depressed as I'm not :) I spend most of my time happy and laughing but you'd never think it on here! Maybe it's emoticons? I don't know. I have the same issue with work emails, been told to inject my personality into them? Being sarcastic never reads well. So please don't think gor she don't half drone on. Imagine me smiling while you're reading lol. X

  • I don't think you sound too grim! IMHO, it's best to write like you talk — imagine you're telling everything to a friend and you should strike the right tone. For work, it's best to imagine you're telling an acquaintance. If you find you're repeating yourself or using hedging phrases ("I'm not sure, but..." or "I don't know" are common), which most people tend to do in speech but looks much worse on the page, just edit it out.

If this is something you would like to work on, try re-reading your posts and emails, highlighting or making a note of what you like andwhat you don't. It takes practice, but it's a valuable skill — especially for job applications and work which involves emailing. If any of this is useful and you're interested in more tips, feel free to pm me :)

I know exactly what you mean Kitten, I struggle with that sometimes too. Don't worry, I don't think you sound miserable!

ABA has a really good tip there :)

Thanks ABA. I think it's more that I write what needs to be said and no more at work. I put 'well done team' and 'yay' in the subject line. I find it hard because we are a team of three people who all sit within centimetres of each other, emails really aren't necessary but my boss insists. Plus I'm really at a base level job. My boss does pink pages with big blue letters and pictures of cats. He drives me nuts. Hahaha it sounds mental writing it down. 'Inject yourself into it' hahaha I'm too busy doing my job.
    Sold something today.
Being naughty next couple of days and budget is being ignored as I have to buy hubby six months worth of stuff to take away and enjoy our last 3 days together.
Love you all lots :) thank you for being super kind as per! Xxx

Your boss sounds like he'd drive me mad too, I think I'm a bit of a 'get the job done and stop wasting time person' and if one of my girls started sending emails with pretty colours, fonts and pictures I'd be upping her workload!

Enjoy your time with hubby Kitten, it can't be easy but if you really enjoy the next few days it'll be something for you both to concentrate on when it's tough.
