Anyone using Vodafone fibre broadband?

According to Vodafones website, to compare what you had with BT you would be paying £28 for the faster speed Vodafone broadband ( equivalent of Infinity 2) and £8 for anytime calls, so for comparison to BT shouldn't the figure be £36 ?
Your post suggests you are getting their fastest broadband and anytime calls for £24, is that correct as £24 according to Vodaphone website gets you broadband that isn't even as quick as Infinity 1 ( 38 compared to 52) let alone for the equivalent of Infinity 2.
If that's the case your speed isn't going to improve to the 60Mb you had with BT.
Are you getting anytime calls with that £24 or do you have to add £8 ? so are you are paying £32 or £24 for slower than you had broadband and anytime calls ?
It may still be cheaper than the equivalent BT product but maybe over stating the difference, or are you saying the £24 is what you save per month ( coincidentally the same as Vodafone slower broadband) and that you are paying £36 , and were paying BT £60 ?
A quick look at the BT website suggests infinity 2 and anytime calls is a little over £50 a month for new customers ( 12 month contract not 18) with a £100 back ( or knock off £8.33 per month) so £41 ish compared to £36, a saving , but not life changing, and certainly not a saving equivalent to the removal of 'line rental'
It may be the case that a new BT customer can get a better deal than an existing customer , but it may prove to be the same with Vodafone , and obviously you are a 'new' Vodafone broadband customer
My mistakeYes, it is £36 per month with the inclusive calls. Been a Vodafone customer for 20 years almost. Was paying £60 per month to BT. Our speed has increased to 60Mbps now so happy with that. Just the issue of our phone number to sort out

I was also looking at changing from BT, due to my half price deal finishing. After 3 phone calls and rubbish prices I settled on infinity 1 unlimited @ £10pm for a 12 month recontract and a new smart hub, could of saved mabey £1 or £2 switching bit couldn't be bothered0

Just a quick update.
Vodafone changed our home number on switchover which I explicitly asked them not to do when I ordered the package. Have been told that they cannot change it back so asked for my £50 connection fee back which they agreed to.
Just thought I would tell people that keeping your present number mighth be an issue if you decide to switch. In deep...0 -
I'm pretty sure you can use your old modem, but your router may need to be replaced, especially when it's BT one, with hardcoded configuration and picking up updates from BT.
I'm not using router from BT, preferred own one with open source firmware (dd-wr) - it's rock solid stable and can be trusted.
Hope after moving away from BT i will have only change username/password
EDIT:
Since Plusnet prices went up in actual promotion (10/a month for 6 months instead of 5/month) ordered Vodafone. Let it be.
Installation day chosen. Will see.
It's unbelievable, but total monthly cost is almost half price - £28 vs. £ 53.24.
Currently not using any BT extras, so it's basically the same service (for me)0 -
I tried to get the Vodafone deal, NO LINE RENTAL what a deal breaker,
Had loads of problems getting Vodafone to Listen to me,
Ive had to phone 10 times, they never email, the Twitter feed and forum and weak at support.
Its been over a month and still no Broadband, I have had 3 orders lots of confirmation emails but no actual router or line transfer.0 -
just my 2p worth after what seems BT lin rental going up every 8 months or so
I rang BT as we're am moving house soon and my contract was coming to an end it would have tied me in to a new 12 month contract at full price(infinity 2, tv, HD etc £64 odd), so all i asked was to be treated to the same deals as a new customer which quite bluntly they wouldn't do.
I thought i'd get rid of BTTV as we don't watch it and just have broadband i was offered a deal of £7 off for 3 months then back to full price(£32) for infinity 2 so i explored the option of going to infinity 1 but was offered £16.50 (from £20) for 6 months, and until i aske,d both of these deals were tying me in for 2 years.
so vodaphone here I come and will save £23 a month :T0 -

I wonder if it's possible to port your old number to a VoIP provider.0 -
I am too interested in switching to the new Vodafone Fibre broadband package with no line rental. I am currently with talktalk and pay an annual fee for line rental up front which gets a 10% discount. But taking that into account and my monthly fee for eves/weekend calls, normal broadband and a pathetic TV package which I get the same from my Samsung HD box, it works out about a fiver saving for the middle package on Vodafone which suits me fine.
The bit I tried to find is what happens at the end of the 18month/2 year contract, as another has pointed out, line rental is not going away so can Vodafone, and other ISP provide the same packages hiding the line rental?
I am unable to move just yet as contracted with talktalk but if becomes worth doing, I'll take the hit on finishing with them, but at present I have plenty of time to see how this evolves.0 -
I looked at Vodafone just because I was curious as to what "no line rental" actually meant in practice.
I wasn't that surprised to find that 38Mpbs was £25 per month (as a non-Vodafone customer) compared to £27.70 on my existing Talktalk contract. So, a saving of £2.70. However, for that £2.70 I get free calls all day/all week, which I reckon is probably worth the difference.0 -
My talktalk package at the moment is prepaid upfront line rental and £10 for normal up to 17mbs broadband and calls eves/weekends. This works out at about £26.50 per month.
If I wanted to add Fibre medium package, that is on offer at present for additional £7.50 for 18 months, it then reverts to £10 per month.
So talktalk is more expensive at £34 per month over Vodafones £28 incl line rental
I think talktalk need to do some work as they are going to lose customers.0
