The Infinity 1 product is limited to 25 GB per month; it's the Unlimited Infinity 1 product that isn't limited:

I'm still amazed ISP's offer limited services, even more surprised that people buy them!

I've got Infinity2 unlimited, mainly because of the download limits on Infinity 1

Infinity 1 has an unlimited option as well. Pointless paying for 2 if your download speeds are less than 1 offers. That will save you £10 off base price straight away.
  • Just to clarify MY position and the reason for this post.
I have BT Fibre Broadband Unlimited, whether it's 1 or 2 is irrelevant really.
The max speed I can get is around 38/39 mbps down speed due to my distance from the exchange.
With MY costs at £18.99 + £26.00 per month, switching would save me £22.99 per month.
Vodafone do state on the site that you must have a BT/Openreach line.
I can't find another provider to date that is doing a deal like this, although I have no doubt that most of the ISP's will start doing something similar soon enough.
There is no way that BT is going to drop their line rental charges, or any of the other big providers for that matter, it's just easy money for them and a captive situation as well.
Unless there is a major meltdown in landline charges from everyone, all I can see happening is the major players throwing more 'free' stuff at you that you don't need.
I'm not going to jump just yet, I'm in no rush, but it'll be interesting to see what the other ISP's will start to offer in the run up to christmas.

Zen are doing similar deal to Vodafone and seem to have good customer service

What happens if you let your contract end with BT? Do you then pay full price on a rolling contract?

Lots of ISPs offer limited services, as they limit you to IPv4 only, even though they describe the services as "unlimited".

No, when you are out of contract the price you pay remains the same.

Just switched to Vodafone Homephone and Fibre Broadband yesterday so thought I'd give you my first impressions.

The price is £24 per month less overall than I was paying BT for Infinity 2, line rental and all inclusive calls to landlines. This package with Vodafone does not charge seperately for line rental and the all inclusive calls include calls to mobiles so that's a bonus.

The modem itself is aesthetically pleasing :) but larger than the Bt Homehub 5, if that makes any difference to anyone.

Bad points yet to resolved are:
Was getting 60Mbs download speed through BT - Vodafone speed is 30Mbs so far but they say that the line needs time to 'settle down' and can take up to 10 days. Not convinced that this is true with a fibre connection, so we'll see.
Explicitly told them when I ordered that I wanted to keep my old landline number, but they've only gone and changed it! Been told that the line needs to be active for 48 hours before they can look at changing it back so will leave it until tomorrow and contact them again.

Overall, the ordering process was OK, speed is OK but not as fast as before and an issue has arisen with my landline number. Will update on progress with resolving these issues

According to Vodafones website, to compare what you had with BT you would be paying £28 for the faster speed Vodafone broadband ( equivalent of Infinity 2) and £8 for anytime calls, so for comparison to BT shouldn't the figure be £36 ?
Your post suggests you are getting their fastest broadband and anytime calls for £24, is that correct as £24 according to Vodaphone website gets you broadband that isn't even as quick as Infinity 1 ( 38 compared to 52) let alone for the equivalent of Infinity 2.
If that's the case your speed isn't going to improve to the 60Mb you had with BT.
Are you getting anytime calls with that £24 or do you have to add £8 ? so are you are paying £32 or £24 for slower than you had broadband and anytime calls ?
It may still be cheaper than the equivalent BT product but maybe over stating the difference, or are you saying the £24 is what you save per month ( coincidentally the same as Vodafone slower broadband) and that you are paying £36 , and were paying BT £60 ?
A quick look at the BT website suggests infinity 2 and anytime calls is a little over £50 a month for new customers ( 12 month contract not 18) with a £100 back ( or knock off £8.33 per month) so £41 ish compared to £36, a saving , but not life changing, and certainly not a saving equivalent to the removal of 'line rental'
It may be the case that a new BT customer can get a better deal than an existing customer , but it may prove to be the same with Vodafone , and obviously you are a 'new' Vodafone broadband customer

I have I dropped from all day everyday calls to weekend only calls 'cos I don't use the phone all that much - although now that 0800/0845 numbers are disappearing fast and changing to 0345 (usually only manned on weekdays!) I am being forced to make more chargeable calls.
Calls to 0800 and 0808 numbers are free-to-caller on landlines and mobiles.

Calls to 084, 087 and 09 numbers are premium rate. As you note, 084 and 087 numbers are being phased out en-masse.

Most organisations have changed to 03 numbers. The whole point of 03 numbers is that they are inclusive from landlines and mobiles else charged at 'geographic rate' - the same as calls to 01 and 02 numbers.

Most calls to 01, 02 and 03 numbers are made as part of an inclusive call plan. You only need to make a few minutes of calls per week in order for an inclusive call plan to be the cheapest way to make these calls.
