Speaking of mistakes. The bargain nappies I bought this morning. Are massive. I thought they were 11 pounds up but it says 11kg on closer inspection. Poor baby looks like she has a full body stocking on. The perfect career choice would be rustling
oh well. Need more coffee....

This did make me giggle!
Today has been a spendy day as had my second outing of the month to a Christmas fair. I bought lunch, some fudge plus Christmas cards and a Christmas present. Only one present left to buy 😃
Today I am grateful for:-
1. My good friend coming to stay
2. Getting back in the car before the weather became horrendous
3. Heating, it's so cold todayLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Fmess - you are over 61% - awesome!
I did dd's school Christmas Fair today and made another £42.50, so have managed the £80 challenge. (The table cost me £20, so really I 'made' over 60). I am now worn out!
Today I am grateful for dd + dh being awesome at the fair, for good coffee, for curried parsnip soup, for selling some stuff, for peace and quiet now.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Fmess -.love fudge..when I was starting up the business I tried repeatedly to make it to sell. And I couldn't ever get the nack. So I still will buy it on occasion. A wonderful gift to give if you do have the skill or can buy it.
Apple - having seen your handiwork I can imagine how well you'd do at a fair. Well done" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

This made me chuckle too.
Well we have had a busy day. Went to collect our reserved item for DD's birthday, she is driving herself nuts as she has to wait till Thursday before she gets it. Earlier this month we bought a game from Tesco for DS for christmas and they have knocked the price down by £15 for black friday so today I have returned it and re-ordered at the new price to be collected next week - £15 saved.
My parents gave us £20 for sorting out their oven for them so we spent £10 of it today on M&S dine in and I will save the other £10 for the same thing at a later date. I normally spend £4-5 on wine so these are a good deal for us.
I am cold today so we have lit the stove and I am already in my pj's and snuggle socks and I haven't even had tea yet.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

No spend days yesterday and today. I received a letter from my old bank. An apology, they have reviewed their files and decided they did not act in accordance with CCA guidelines during part of the period I had a personal loan. Included a cheque for £692.48 for interest from 2011 to 2014.
I have committed £520 to the emergency fund (will bank cheque on Monday then it will have to work it's way through the system), DS3 has asked for a pair of trainers for Christmas (same brand as his old ones which have lasted three years, but size 13 mens) and I wanted to have a diy fund of £50 for December. Should have more to go to the emergency fund but waiting for a price on the trainers first.
Would like to buy myself a pair of jogging pants. I bought two pairs but found out one pair was only a medium after I had worn and washed them. Thought I was putting on weight (was struggling to breathe). So out of practice at buying clothes that I forgot to check the size on the clothing was the same as on the hanger. They will be okay when I lose weight but only one pair atm. I would also like to buy a pot of hyacinths for over Christmas. I usually do my own but have been avoiding looking at plant and seed catalogues. The two hardest things all year has been not looking at plants and not having enough money to buy a copy of the Big Issue.
There are a number of things on my wish list but the jogging pants and hyacinths are my most likely purchases.
It's strange but I nearly cried over the letter. I think the mental health challenge for December is very timely. Need to think about how I will feel when the house sale goes through. Obviously it will be a relief but will be a shock to my system too, even though I will still have to live frugally. I have been reading a lot of Christmas books over the last two weeks. They are helping improve my mood and the library staff keep gathering them all up and making a big display so it's very easy. They aren't all sweet, one of my favourites included a lot of crime fiction authors and the latest was about a large family gathering which made the thought of my quiet Christmas so much more appealing.
Today I am grateful for the proximity the library, for decluttering and organising (half a sack of paper out to the bin, will be emptied this week and then not until after Christmas) all lists into notebooks, not stray bits of paper and for satsumas (bought 20 for £1 last Saturday and they have been sitting on the kitchen table but are now by my side.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Wow Mothernerd were you expecting that money or was it a total surprise?
Dolly - quick thinking to get your money back that way. I wonder if they have lost a lot to sharp eyed consumers?
There was a scam doing the rounds on social media during the week which was saying that Mr T had leaked a staff voucher for £600. All you had to do was sign up to get yours. Anyway from the comments it seems it was a scam where you had to pay £4 & then they'd keep deducting money till you texted stop to a certain number. Don't know if anyone saw that?" mothernerd - great letter from the bank. I will forever be in awe of your 35 miles on the buses in one day.
bob - melt 200g white choc and 175g butter, mix in 500g icing sugar.'i also add mint flavouring, and spread in a tin. Hey presto! Fudge! Best served chilled...if you can wait that long ...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
