NST: Standing Firm in November

Hi everyone!
Sorry for the lack of posting recently. Business has been busy, which is of course good, but has left me exhausted!
Following on from the conversations about schools, I have £200 to pay for trips in January!! £150 for dd (but we have told her if she wants to go it's her Xmas present, and she won't get much else) and £50 for ds.
We are lucky though that we get free breakfast clubs. They open at 8.15 which is ideal for me and means I can still get to work on time. They don't do after school club though as they sent letters about it home and there was a lack of interest. Luckily, my mum is a star and regularly picks the little ones up from school for me.
I have a stall at a Christmas fair this weekend and it's scaring me a little that I don't know how much stock I need. I'm worried I will run out on the first day and have nothing left!
Not many SFDs to report, but again that's mainly due to business spends.0 -
Hello everyone,
Another day and battle, DH has given me the money so I feel better about my OD, why when I worked so hard to clear it am I getting back into it again? So frustrating! Yes yes I know I must keep spending when I shouldn't but I barely spend!
Trying to get another balance transfer CC as mine is up in a few months and I'm not sure I will pay it off by then. I'm going to try and clear the lowest one first then close it, I don't think it will take long for that one.
Took two bags of toys and games to the church group I go to and they were very grateful.
Spendy day today as I needed to get some food items. After a run of 3 I think I'm doing ok.
Plan for the next few days is to list those items on eBay, next week I'm going to see if I can get a few extra hours at work to raise some funds.
Today I am grateful for
1. Crochet- I've started up my second blanket project today and it's so therapeutic
2. The sunshine this morning
3. Being able to help others[STRIKE]497.00[/STRIKE][STRIKE] 286.34[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]182.00[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]180.00[/STRIKE][STRIKE] 130.00[/STRIKE] CC1 Paid!!:j

welshkitty good luck with the stall! Theres a xmas festival near us this weekend and im in South Wales. Was thinking about popping along there.
Had a small spend yesterday, ds had a hair cut (£5) and needed bread (£1) for two loaves, then mil gave me £4.25 she owed me which meant i didnt spend much at all.
Im not going food shopping this week as i need car insurance and i want to pay it off in one go. weve got planty of food here, but ran out of bread yesterday and milk today. I couldnt get the milk yesterday as i had it was hammering down with rain and ds (2) wasnt in his pushchair and theres no way i could have managed him and 8 pints of milk!! So 2 lsd's for me.
Taking ds to rubgy tots this afternoon, its a free taster. I wanted to sign him up but realised that it would cost me £80 for the first term as you have to buy uniform too!!! Couldn't justify it at his age, so opted for the taster session and will see how finances are in a few months.
Three things im grateful for today:
1. My house is nice and tidy
2. Ds isnapping which has meant me having 5 mins with my feet up
3. Lots of food in the house so i can skip the weekly shop and pay outright for car insuranceStill here..... but working on that!0 -
Oh i forgot to ask!!
I'm getting some money £4000, its a big amount (to me!)
I need to make a plan for it and want your opinions -
i currently owe -
Loan (family) £400 - i pay £100 a month so would have been paid soon anyway.
Loan £2300 - i pay £114 a month
Cc 1 - £5800
Cc 2 - £2100 (interest free 35 months)
Also as you know, im having a baby next month and have no savings and will be going on statutory mat pay £139 a week, so things will be tight.
What would you do??
My thoughts are pay off the two loans and keep just over 1k as an emergency fund just incase?
Then carry on with the two c/c's.
Any other better suggestions from you clever lot? I dont really want to ask family, as i dont want them knowing my mess!!Still here..... but working on that!0 -

I would keep paying the family loan and the interest free CC as usual and yes keep some for an emergency, like 500-1000.
Where to put the 3-3500 would depend on which has the higher interest, the loan or CC1? What do you pay on CC1 a month?DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

£117 this month, as part of it is interest free.Still here..... but working on that!0 -

If it were my decision then, I would pay of the 2300 loan and chuck another 1200 against the CC1 that should reduce you monthly outgoings (esp. the ones going to interest) by a good amount before you go on mat leave :jDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
thrifty thank u. Its always good to have other peoples perspective on things. Sorry its not related to the thread, but u lot understand better!Still here..... but working on that!0

Hi everyone
LSD-I agree with Thrifty
It will reduce the amount you have to pay when you least have it. Well not much to report today.I did spend but both medial.Middle DS needed his cetreben cream for his skin and I needed to buy some vinegar too. I felt really tired all day so I hope i'm not coming down with anything
