Morning everyone, sorry to hear of those of you having stressful times at work, I hope it eases soon.
I'm tired and bleary eyed after a busy shift at work last night. I work in food retail and it's crazy already and it's not even December yet! Working in this sector certainly makes you see things in a different light! But as a result there is loads of overtime going so I've signed up for an extra shift next week, I'm hoping to get at least an extra £80 earned between now and Christmas which I know won't be included in this challenge but it will help to pay off this debt quicker.
Today I plan to have a rest day, my son is at pre school all day today, usually I get on with jobs but I am feeling a bit coldy and after an emotionally draining week I think I need to just be so its sofa, crochet and to for me today but it will be NSD so I'm up to 11 now.[STRIKE]497.00[/STRIKE][STRIKE] 286.34[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]182.00[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]180.00[/STRIKE][STRIKE] 130.00[/STRIKE] CC1 Paid!!:j

Stressful morning over herebeen sorting out hubby's car insurance stupidly expensive and stupidly annoying!! Currently waiting on "call back"
Was hoping for a NSD today but more like a spend loads day! Almost £200 just for his deposit on insurancemost people that is what their insurance for the year is an they'll moan that's a lot! They need to think of us youngun's that ARE getting ripped off!! *rant over* sorry
Anyway three things I'm grateful for:
1. Nice lay in this morning
2. My cats giving me cuddles (even though one was sick on the floor this morning!! He did miss my clothes that were on the floor though!)
3. Having food in my cupboards

Dolly- I feel sorry for the children in that case. It's quite bad if the school are publicly announcing like that as the child can't pay unless the parent does.
Having been class rep at school last year I found it quite awkward that I knew who had put in for the gifts. Now I appreciate everyone has their own view on giving gifts to teachers and I don't judge either way. You never know who decides not to for religious reasons either. So hard to make things equal for all." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

There is such an enormous pressure for things like this, as a teacher you never expect a gift (although I would rather not have 5 boxes of chocolates that I won't eat!) but parents compete against each other[STRIKE]497.00[/STRIKE][STRIKE] 286.34[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]182.00[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]180.00[/STRIKE][STRIKE] 130.00[/STRIKE] CC1 Paid!!:j

Feel like we need a teacher appreciation group at the moment. It's crazy busy at this time of year.
This thread moves so fast. Think I am at nsd12. I'm not sure.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #820 -

Hi everyone
Completely knackered again and i'm another one holding on for dear life till pay day :rotfl: I completely forgot about meeting up with a friend on Sunday. The thing is she usually has an excuse not to turn up so I think I was expecting/hoping this. But oh no, sods law, when I've got about tuppence in the bank she can't wait to meet up  I too feel sorry for any kids that are named and shamed regarding trips-how awful  Today I've spent nothing so that's good for once this week. Today I'm grateful for being able to laugh for once at work today, being able to keep my family fed and watered and my youngest getting praise from his teacher for very good work and behaviour. I was ripping my hair out at the beginning of term with his antics  Have a good evening everyone

Not much to report today, but three things im grateful for
1. Mil making tea so i didnt need to cook or clean
2. £30 cashback from swapping utilities reaching my bank account
My £100 cheque clearing for swapping bank accounts.
3. Paying off car insurance last night in one go, and not having a monthly payment.Still here..... but working on that!0 -

Busy day and a spendy one too, may have broken a rule or two along the way.
Had very little sleep, felt like I had just nodded off when the sweeper lorry went beeping and (yellow light) flashing all round the car park (it was still dark). As the day wore on it became apparent that the Christmas lights switch on is tonight - cue fairground rides and barriers all round the town hall square and two vans and three people setting up the firework display on the car park (so sweeper van will be round again at crack of dawn to clear all the debris).
Despite my early start it was still a struggle to get to the doctor's (full rucksack as I wanted to get through as much as possible despite needing matchstalks to keep my eyes open) so went for the taxi option. Rule break #1 bought a chocolate bar from the corner shop (between home and the taxi office). I had taken sandwich thins and ham from the freezer but ate them before 7am. Thought corner shop would be cheaper than hospital vending machine and WRVS tea shop was forced to close ages ago - was supposed to be replaced by a more sophisticated set up but they wanted the volunteers to keep running it (but not have a say?).
Doctor has given me more antibiotics but no inhaler. He confirmed that I am okay to take the multivitamins I bought (middle of the night reading suggested iron combined with my other tablets could lead to liver disease but okay in the dose I am taking) and I have also been for a chest x-ray (hoping there is nothing of concern but good to get it ticked off my worry list). He asked several times if I was okay to go to x-ray today - there's a corridor through from the GP part, though the walk in centre and straight to x-ray so yes I went (rather than go home and make the half hour each way trip on another day?).
I also asked for a referral to the counselling people who were so helpful before. I am okay but I could be a lot better (especially as lack of money and poor health are dragging me down) and it's time to be proactive and get some help with sorting things out. May be opportunities for socialising/ mutual support as well. I had taken their leaflet with me but doctor did not have any referral forms. Got the receptionist to photocopy leaflet and she will pursue.
Bought an all day anybus ticket. Went all the way into the bus stop and purchased passport photos (truly dire) - forgotten to add that to my spending. Took money from cash machine and bought a sandwich (Rule infringement #2) so I could get straight on another bus and carry on with more tasks (have almost read a whole novel today due to waiting time at doctor's/ x-ray / pharmacy and on the bus. Took a long trip (done over 35 miles today) but broke journey to get some photocopies (their photocopier was broken) and nip into centre providing counselling (no leaflets but told me how doctor can get them) - both places were either side of the bus stop and both tasks done in the 8 minutes waiting time between buses. Unfortunately the rain started pelting down (should have taken panda hat).
Hit a slump just after 2pm, got back home at 3pm but went out for another longish journey at 4pm. Probably need to do more tomorrow but hopefully lots of shorter trips. Didn't manage to get any cheap meat/ veg - lovely market in the other town but was too tired to walk that far. I have bought a couple of things including just ripe bananas which meant I didn't have to force myself to go out again. Sneaky cat was in the shop so I told them where it is supposed to live in case it kept going back.
Home again just after 6pm and have sat on my bed watching the firework display.
Today I am grateful for my grandstand view of the fireworks, for getting a lot of reading done and for ticking lots of things off my list (on very little sleep and very tired leaden feet). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
