I'm always up for fixing things, Procrastinater. Getting a man in is always a last resort if all else fails;) and sadly, OH is a bit clueless with anything electrical. I usually see what advice is available on YouTube. Sometimes there seems like about 50 different conflicting ideas so it's hard to know where to start, but the videos are really useful. I reckon I've saved loads over the years. Thank you, YouTube:T

Haven't been on there with this issue as I suspect it will be beyond me:o.

Right, it's an AEG and has done donkey's years of loyal service. Wasn't cheap to buy but I reckon I've had more than my money's worth out of it.

What's wrong with it? What isn't? There's been a water leak from underneath for a while and it's getting worse. Can't get machine out to investigate. The temp gauge thingy is a bit iffy. I sometimes have it on a 60 degree wash but the water stays lukewarm. The latest thing was that the drum will not rotate at all, just a slight mechanical sound as if it's trying to get revved up but nothing happens. At least the 'pump out' feature worked (didn't need any drum rotation) so I could get the water out and open the door to retrieve my washing.

    Any ideas?

I truly hope there isn't an epidemic, that's the last thing I need at the minute as our dishwasher has decided to throw a tantrum and stop working mid cycle (cue lots of half washed dishes and a few inch of water in the bottom).

To be fair it's done well and has been on its way out for a while now so it's not unexpected, but could still have done without it :(

Congratulations to all of you who have managed to make some money today, personally I haven't made a bean for the last few days and feel I really need to up my game a little if I'm going to reach my target.

I am on a frugal type forum on facebook and the ladies there are very knowledgeable. someone recently posted about their washing machine and the ladies said it was the bearings and they had replaced them themselves! when I told the BG engineer he said nooo, they didn't! women doing it themselves?

needless to say he was the one who ripped my lino

  • Hi everyone :D
I made £25 at tutoring today, which has taken me over the £300 mark - but I'm not giving up just yet. I'll manage a bit more before the end of the month.
Catherine - I hope your son is ok - mine had an emergency operation when he was 4, and I was in bits until he was through and out of the other side.
Finally got round to listing a couple of bits on eBay - goodness knows if they'll go but we'll see...
